In the last bulletin there was some information about the SportIdent
electronic timing system that we will be using for An Turas Beag. I am
repeating this info below – if there are any questions please ask now.
“
We will be using the SportIdent electronic timing system for the An
Turas Beag race. Each elite or team will be given one SportIdent card
which will be securely fastened to your wrist using a non-removable
tyvek strap. On the route there are 11 SportIdent stations and it is
mandatory that you punch at each. Your route card will tell you where
each of these stations are. Punching involves inserting your
SportIdent card into the SportIdent station and waiting about 1 second
for it to beep. Failure to punch implies that you have deviated from
the set route and could lead to disqualification. Teams will not be
allowed to punch until both members are present at the station. You
will not have to punch at the start of the race, but you will have to
punch at the finish. A SportIdent demonstration will be available at
registration.
“
At the finish you will get a splits printout.
Most of the SportIdent cards have a red cord attached – please do NOT
untie or cut this cord, just loop it around your wrist. If you lose
your SportIdent card you will be expected to pay the €50 replacement
cost.
Any questions?
