bike “equipment” can be left with the bikes – does this include bike
shoes, helmet (if not being used on abseil), pump, bottle, tube etc. I
also take it that footwear that we have used in all stages prior to
the bike section must be carried in your backpack on the biking stage
if we are using SPD’s

Competitors will leave their bikes and boats at the relevant
transition sites the day before the race (instructions given at
registration, security provided overnight). Gear (helmets, shoes, etc
or PFD, helmet and paddles) can be left with them. Athletes may leave
paddles, helmets and PFDs with their boats at the end of the water
stage, which will be returned to the finish line (this gear must be
tagged - tags given at registration). Apart from that, ALL gear MUST
be carried by athletes at all times. So all footwear used must be
carried to the end. Abseil gear must be carried throughout the entire
race.

Also, no littering, we are operating a Leave No Trace policy. Bins at
transitions.

"Athletes may leave paddles, helmets and PFDs with their boats at the
end of the water stage"

Does that mean helmets are madatory in the kayak or optional? The kit
list didn't seem to say they were?

Hi Peter,

Registration opens at 1pm so you can drop your bike up to the Hags Glen after that there will be someone looking after them up there during the night too.
It must be tagged at registration.

Bike helmets are not allowed on the abseil it must be a multi purpose
helmet certified for climbing or a seperate climbing helmet

Kindest regards,
