to The Turas Beag
Just in relation to some questions I've been getting:
Paddles and buoyancy aids will be included with kayaks for rent.
There will be a gear check before the race. The organization reserves
the right to perform 'spot' checks during the race. Any individuals or
teams not carrying the specified kit on the kit list will be
disqualified. Please refer to the Kit List on the website.
We will expect all competitors to be in Killarney the afternoon/
evening 9th of May for the briefing and to leave their bikes at the
transition location in the Hags Glen, and boats at the transition area
between the trail run and kayak stages. We will give further
instructions on this in a newsletter and at the briefing.
There have been a number of people out training in the mountains for
the Turas Beag in the last few weeks which is brilliant. We can't
stress enough how important it is that atheletes know what is expected
of them competing in the Turas Beag and they have prior experience of
the MacGillicuddy Reeks. We also stress the importance of safety while
on the mountains.
