A few thoughts on your search . . .

Twenty years ago, after going through a lot of unfortunate twists and
turns in my life, I began to ask questions about my life and life in
general -- thought I was getting close, then WHAM -- I got blindsided
by another jolt in my life 9 years later -- soon afterwards, I got my
back on that path . . . I rather think it is an ongoing journey and
we never really get to the end of it. But here is the thing -- from
what I can surmise from it all so far -- its simpler than we try to
make it -- much simpler. It's about the doing and the giving that is
important -- and I don't mean that in a magnanimous way necessarily.
But just being there to listen to a friend, wiping a tear from a
child's face and saying something to make them smile again, helping an
old person with a simple task, encouraging someone to not quit -- I
think it is simple like that. One could even call it Love, but a
larger, farther reaching sort of love. Anyway -- there is a great
movie -- it's called "Razor's Edge" -- there is a recent version with
Bill Murray and Theresa Russell (1984) that isn't bad, but if you can
get a copy of the earlier version ('46? 48?)with Tyrone Power and Gene
Tierney, I'd try to see that one, too. In the end, life is a big
circle, because after all the reading and studying and lectures you
end back up in your own back yard realizing that it's more hype out
there than we care to admit and that what it all boils down to is what
we do, the reason for the doing (for self?) and who we do it for.
Life, afterall must be shared -- otherwise, what is the point? Just a
thought.

Hope this blog hasn't totally died -- looks like that last posting was
in 2006(?)
