Hey guys!
It's come to my attention that a lot of people may not read an attachment,
so if you could have your professors send out the following message as well
(if you haven't already e-mailed them) If you already have e-mailed your
professor then don't worry (and thank you!)
Have you heard about Prop 100? Did you know you could vote early right on
campus?
Prop 100 is a temporary, one percent of every dollar sales-tax increase that
is on the May Special Election Ballot. By law, 2/3 of the revenues from
Prop 100 will go towards education, and the remaining 1/3 to public safety
and health.
The legislature has already built the passage of Prop 100 into their budget,
so if passes they have said the budget and current funding levels will stay
the same. The legislature has said if Prop 100 fails there will be around a
$120 million budget cut to higher education in Arizona.
Election day is May 18th, so make sure you go to your correct polling place
or request an absentee ballot. You can find that information here:
http://www.azsos.gov/election/VoterInformation.htm
*However, anyone registered ANYWHERE in Maricopa County can vote EARLY,
beginning April 26, right on campus at the early voting location, located in
Palo Verde West. The early voting location will be open April 26-May 14,
Monday-Friday. The hours are M-Th 10am-6pm, F 10am-5pm. Free parking for
up to one hour is available at the Fulton Parking Structure. There are no
long lines, no strict ID requirements, and you can vote when it is best for
your schedule.
*
However you vote, don't miss the opportunity to make your voice heard.
