This is a good-looking app. The problem is, there's no way I could
squeeze all of my personal info into a single outline (and not spend
all day scrolling).

Have you considered allowing users to create multiple outlines, each
on its own tab?

Yes, actually. But it was felt that it would complicate the UI, and
considering that The Guide is valued for its simplicity, it made
sense to keep it this way.

Multiple trees

I agree with MD. Keep the UI simple.
Anybody wanting it complex can move to Excel/OpenOfficeCalc with
workbooks, hidden sheets, tabs of course and selfmade macros.
Additionally, less code means faster on and off or in and out.

However, elsewhere I myself will ask for another feature.

To circumvent all day scrolling one has to use more often Search (Ctrl-
Shift-S). Receiving too many results, one has to learn organizing
himself. This way "The Guide" serves another guidance.

(I haven't seen all contributions in this group yet, maybe I repeat
something already known) How about running several instances of The
Guide? I did not test the maximum number of open files, I suppose my
RAM is the limit. I even can have the version 1.6.1 running in
parallel with a different appearance.
