Hi all

The Fascinator code base (trunk) has changed slightly with Solr being
integrated into the Maven build process. The developer install pages
have been updated to reflect the changes:

Linux/MacOSX: http://fascinator.usq.edu.au/trac/wiki/tf2/DeveloperInstallNew
Windows: http://fascinator.usq.edu.au/trac/wiki/tf2/DeveloperInstallWindowsNew

And there is a guide also for updating from a previous installation
available at http://fascinator.usq.edu.au/trac/wiki/tf2/DeveloperNotes/previousInstallationDependencies_draft
which covers the configuration for the Solr and Reindexing/
reharvesting changes.

The harvesting method has also changed slightly to reference the JSON
files directly instead of the Maven profiles. Please see the new
install pages for details.

On a related note, the Watcher installation guide has been updated
also to recommend a default install directory. See
http://fascinator.usq.edu.au/trac/wiki/Watcher/Release/0.3beta2

FYI

The followup to this is the work Oliver alluded to with regards to the security model. I've just committed some changes to the solr schema which may require you to re-index (if you are working directly from the trunk that is, not a release build).

If you want the new default security settings to also be applied to objects you will need to reharvest them. Current harvester rules files have been updated with some logic to set default access to 'guest'.

The system config files also have some new sections relating to access management and file uploading. The default file will write these appropriately if you remove your old file.

Ta,
Greg

Hi All,

Image and video annotation features have been merged to trunk. If you
are working directly from trunk, some configuration need to be
changed. Please refer to
http://fascinator.usq.edu.au/trac/wiki/tf2/DeveloperNotes/previousInstallationDependencies_draft
instruction on how update your current trunk.

IF you are running ICE service locally and using ICE trunk, please
update your ICE to get the changes for image transformation.

Note: The update instruction above includes the changes for:
* Solr indexer changes
* Security changes
* Annotation indexer
* Image and video annotation
* Video/audio transformation (including preview image generation)
through Fascinator

Feel free to contact Linda/Oliver if you have issue in updating your
trunk,

Cheers,
Linda
