Hi,

One of my friends is preparing her first manuscript, she has a
lot of illustrations to make.I asked her to try adobe illustrator but
she still finds it difficult.Can anybody suggest a software tool that
is easy to use for beginners to make illustrations, especially with a
molecular biology perspective.

For the Mac, a great application for making graphics is OmniGraffle. It is pretty straightforward and relatively easy to use.
