I've had both the OBP-1 and OBP-3 in a few different basses. They are
really excellent pieces of gear. they don't change the tonal quality but
they really bring it to life with a sizzle in my opinion.

It is interesting that the website says you can use them at 9 or 18V. I
had several email discussions with one their techs a few years ago who
said it had to be 18V to supply the proper reference point to operate
properly. Actually I did try it with 9V anyway and it seemed fine.

The OBP-1 got rev'ed some years ago to operate at 9V. The electronics box
is about 1/2 the size it used to be, too.
