Winners at the Barn!

Congratulations to our raffle winners! Mrs. LaFave won the framed RENT poster signed by each cast member and Tim Sullivan won two $15.00 gift certificates to The Barn just by filling out our survey. Thanks to everyone who participated.

The Barn Jr. Series, featuring middle and high school students from around the Kansas City area, presents Stephen Sondheim's "Into The Woods", January 7-16, 2011. Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2:00pm.

Into The Woods, featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by James Lapine, is a fractured fairy tale. When a Baker and his Wife learn they've been cursed with childlessness by the Witch next door, they embark on a quest for the special objects required to break the spell, swindling, lying to and stealing from Cinderella, Little Red, Rapunzel and Jack (the one who climbed the beanstalk). Everyone's wish is granted at the end of Act One, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later, with disastrous results. What begins as a lively irreverent fantasy in the style of "The Princess Bride" becomes a moving lesson about community responsibility and the stories we tell our children.

See our website for more information and background on the show, and to reserve your tickets for "Into The Woods"

Volunteer Alert!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, January 29th. You're invited to our first Volunteer Appreciation Reception. You will be receiving more information via email from Mandy Harkleroad. We hope you will join us as we say thanks and toast YOU, our volunteers.

THANK YOU ALL!!!

Thanks for a great 2010! Everyone involved with Barn Players appreciates all the hard work, dedication and loyalty shown by our volunteers, actors, directors, crew, and especially theater-goers who supported The Barn this year.

It takes a lot of effort, volunteers and enthusiastic participation to create a successful season. Each show came in at or under budget, both Barn Jr. shows set new attendance records, and our fund raiser, Women of Rock, met with rave reviews and tripled our previous fund raising efforts.

There is a renewed sense of pride at The Barn and the desire to produce the highest quality community theatre in Kansas City. Come get involved in our exciting 2011 season. We are always looking for volunteers, advertisers, community partners and of course, actors, musicians and patrons.

Have a safe and happy holiday season.

See you at The Barn in 2011!
