I'm interested in doing the "Paul C." mods that ar talked about in
many places on the net but all the links to the schematic and more
importantly, the layout changes, are so old that they no longer exist.

Does anyone have the info?

Thank

If you give me a day or two I'll scan the schematic and a little text by Paul C.
But meanwhile, start with this. The Stokes mod is real good too...it's just moving the power source for the PI up one node...

I'd really appreciate that Mike, thanks.

Remember that I have a 1981 Blackface (really a sivlerface form what I understand but they changed the cosmetics back to blackface the last 2 years), is this mod good for that board do you know?

Rick,

You mentioned that your amp has "a boost circuit". I think you should submit pics and so forth, as the AB1270 circuit may or may not be what you have. Your amp is so close to the transition to the Rivera design that I am concerned that you may have some very odd transitional design which will not respond to the mods you have in mind.

Rick,

RL may be on to something because if the driver circuit is not cathodyne like in the 6G2, AA964, AA1164 or B1270, the Paul C mod doesn’t apply.  The pictures you included of the tube chart inside the cabinet does not say what the circuit is, so pics of at least the driver circuit like in the article I included would help.

Rick,

It is a cathodyne driver so the Paul C mod will work. I have a hard time with pictures like this but I can be sure because the driver uses only 1 triode and the other triode is the vibrato as opposed to a long tail driver which uses both triodes in a 12ax7. I'll try to get to the schematics tonight but it may take me till the weekend. Bear with me.......
