คำว่า "log" ปัจจุบัน ossglossary กำหนดคำแปลว่า "บันทึกปฏิบัติการ"
แต่มีคำเสนอว่า "ล็อก" และเร็ว ๆ นี้ bact' ใช้คำว่า "ปูม"

อันที่จริง คำว่า "ปูม" ก็คิดว่าน่าสนใจมานานแล้วเหมือนกัน เพียงแต่ถ้า
เปลี่ยนมาใช้ จะต้องตามแก้อีกเยอะมาก ก็เลยชะลอไว้

คิดว่าควรใช้คำไหนดีครับ?

ปล. มีหลายประเด็นที่เปิดไว้ตั้งแต่ sprint ยังไม่ได้สรุป เผอิญว่าผมก็ติด
งานอื่นอยู่ ไว้เสร็จแล้วจะมาตามอีกทีครับ

อยากให้ใช้ "ล็อก" เพราะอ่านแล้วจะได้เข้าใจว่ามาจากคำว่า log ได้ทันที
หรืออาจใช้ "ปูมหลัง" ไปเลย เพราะมันสามารถดูย้อนหลังได้

ผมเคยใช้ "บันทึกการทำงาน" (ของ ...) แต่คิดว่า "ปูม" ก็เข้าท่าดีครับ

ปูมหลังมันคนละความหมายครับ ถ้าจะใช้ก็น่าจะแค่ปูม
แต่ผมเห็นว่า บันทึกปฏิบัติการ หรือปูมปฏิบัติการ น่าจะดีกว่า
ทั้งนี้ ถ้าเป็น ปูมปฏิบัติการ ความหมายมันจะึค่อนข้่างแคบ

ว่าแต่ log ในที่นี้คือ log ทั่วๆไปหรือ log (เช่น The error messages
will be logged.) ในบริบทของ log file ครับ

log นาม - "ปูม"
log กริยา - "บันทึกลงปูม" ไหม ?

"ข้อความแจ้งความผิดพลาดจะถูกบันทึกลงปูม" อะไรประมาณนี้ ?
คือคงไม่ได้แปลตรง ๆ

ผมรู้สึกว่า ปูม/บูม นี้เป็นการทับศัพท์มาจากภาษาต่างประเทศนะครับ
แต่ไม่ทราบว่ามาจากคำไหนครับ

ในความคิดผม ถ้าแปล The error messages will be logged. อาจจะไม่แปลตรงๆ
แต่แปลให้สื่อได้อย่างเช่น "ระบบจะบันทึกข้อความแจ้งความผิดพลาดเหล่านี้ไว้"
ครับ

อีกประเด็นหนึ่งในเรื่องการแปลนั้น passive voice เราควรแปลให้เป็น active
voice ทั้งหมดไหมครับ เนื่องจากภาษาไทยโดยพื้นฐานไม่มี passive voice
ใช่ไหมครับ

มันจะมีบางกรณีที่แปลแบบนี้ได้ยากครับ เช่น View Log ที่เป็นรายการอยู่ในเมนู

ถ้าปูมเป็นคำไทยก็อาจเป็นโอกาสดีที่จะช่วยอนุรักษ์คำนี้ไว้ครับ

view log = ดูปูม
traffic log = ปูมการจราจร

เรื่อง passive voice นี่
ผมว่ามันมีเรื่องของการเน้นด้วยนะครับ

อย่าง

ก็คือเน้นตัว error messages ไม่ได้เน้นการ log
เราจะแปลโดยเก็บการเน้นนี้เอาไว้ไหม ?
