ถ้า Binary = ไบนารี แสดงว่า
KiB (Kilo binary byte - Kibibyte) = กิไบไบต์ หรือ กิบิไบต์ ดีครับ ?
MiB (Mega binary byte - Mebibyte) = เมไบไบต์ หรือ เมบิไบต์ ?
GiB (Giga binary byte - Gibibyte) = กิไบไบต์  อ้าว ซ้ำกับ กิโล ...
จิไบไบต์, จิบิไบต์ ?

ตอนนี้ผมใช้ KiB = KB, MiB = MB, GiB = GB อยู่ครับ
เพราะคิดว่าอยู่ในบริบทสื่อจัดเก็บข้อมูล
คนใช้น่าจะเข้าใจตรงกันอยู่แล้วว่า 1 KB = 1024 Bytes ?
หรือคนทั่วไปจะเข้าใจว่า = 1000 Bytes ครับ ?

ถ้าตามอุปสรรค kilo มันก็ต้อง 1000 ครับ
ถ้าจะเคร่งครัดกับความหมายของ kilo

แต่ในทางคอมพิวเตอร์ เราใช้ 1024
และเมื่อก่อนก็ยังไม่มีคำเรียกเฉพาะ ก็เรียก kilo เหมือน ๆ กัน
แต่ตอนนี้มีคำเฉพาะแล้ว ก็น่าจะใช้ตามนั้นครับ

กรณีอย่างนี้ ผมคงจะไม่พยายามทับศัพท์ครับ
จนกว่าจะมีการใช้งานกันกว้างขวางพอ
หรือมีการรับรองอย่างเป็นทางการ

ถ้าเจอ Kibibyte (น่าจะอ่านว่า กิไบไบต์?) ผมคงใช้ตัวโรมันไปเลย
ไม่ทับศัพท์

เห็นว่า ถ้า string ต้นแบบใช้ KiB ก็ควรจะ KiB ตามครับ
