escape sequence

Hi all,
I’m new to TextWrangler and this group. Was wondering if anyone can
tell me how to put and escape sequence into a file (ctrl +v,ctrl+[ in
vim)? Tried a google search but could not filter out all the escape
key uses :-(. 'Show Invisibles' will show the escape sequences that I
placed in vim but I cannot figure out how to insert them in
TextWrangler.
