Tabbed docs reopened as new windows

Hi,

I'm sorry I don't have many details to report about this behaviour, but my Mac (macbook pro/Snow Leopard) crashed as I was editing some documents with textwrangler, and when I reopened it after reboot, all my documents came back, but all as a new window... 

The fact that I opened some in tabs doesn't seem to have be saved. 

Still I'm glad I could get back my docs, (even unsaved ones!) but that was a lot of windows to open simulteanously ;).

Jean-Marie, I assume that by "open in tabs" you mean they shared one window and you could see them listed in the window's drawer. In that case, it's a preference setting that you can choose:

Preferences > Documents & Drawer > New & opened documents: Open in the front window

Yes that's what I meant, thank you :).

Allright I've changed this preference. 

But, my point was more about restoring the state of my windows before the crash (some where in separate windows, some were shared in one window).

Maybe that is a Lion feature, I don't know.

But if another kernel panic occurs, and this preference opens all windows in one, that's fine too ;)

( I was already pleased to see I didn't lose my unsaved documents ! )

If you observe that TextWrangler doesn't regroup documents correctly after
a normal quit & relaunch, please contact tech support
<sup...@barebones.com> so we can investigate.

However, when the machine itself crashes (especially due to a kernel
panic), there's no chance to do anything but use whatever info the crash
recovery mechanism had already saved.
