Much easier: press and hold down the Shift key while launching TextWrangler
to skip reopening files (and all other startup actions).

Unfortunately my installation keeps crashing on start even when I press the shift key. The BareBone stuff (Case 322817) suggested to reinstall the whole Mac OS, what sounds to me as nonsense. Is there a cleaner way to have textwrangler working again?

The crash log indicates that your OS installation is damaged.
Re-running the OS installer will not affect any of your
installed applications or data, but it will resolve the problems
that are affecting TextWrangler (and which will ultimately
affect other applications as well).

Someday I'll look back on all this and laugh... until they
sedate me.
