FYI, I sent John Vaillant a note. He answered back that he’ll be in Austin @ Book People on Oct. 4.

I’m not sure if he’ll be in other Texas cities. Should be an interesting evening and one on my calendar.  J

Have a great week.

Steve

Dear Joe, Thanks for the update.  Have you checked out the Highland Park Elementary school>
I recommend it. Also I believe Doss Elementary has their Green  Ribbon.  Is this conference open to the public?
Sincerely,
Sally Scott

Congratulations Steve! What a wonderful program for children!

The National Coalition for Campus Children's Centers (NCCCC) will hold their annual conference at the Sheraton in Austin,  March 29-31, 2012.  We are planning to address the group on March 31 on the subject, "Playgrounds and Natural Habitats: A Magical Combination."  This will be followed by a tour of schools that have developed integrated indoor/outdoor play and learning environments that focus on health, fitness, and experiential learning. We have already selected one Green Ribbon School and would like to visit another that is well along in their Green Ribbon program.

Do you own a kayak? Thanks again for the kayak tour of Lady Bird Lake.  We must find ways to preserve that magical adjacent  wilderness.  I want to show you another local    waterway that will excite your senses!

Best wishes,

Joe
