2008 Tevis Horse required...

Hi.

The horse who I was going to ride in this years 2008 Tevis is now no longer
available and I am now in a last minute search to see if anyone has or knows

of a horse available for me to ride?
My Tevis entry fee is all paid and I have just a few days to find a
substitue
horse, or withdraw my entry.

I am coming from Australia, and all plane fares etc are booked and paid. I
am
a competent rider and will ride with owner or on my own and to instruction.
Some of my 100 Mile previous successes include 3 x Tom Quilty Buckles, 2 x
100
mile Wins + BC plus numerous completions.

For more info, please contact me on end...@netspace.net.au.

Thanks for any considerations!

Good luck finding a suitable and prepared horse Melissa! I didn't get a chance to meet you at the Sunriver/Mt. Adams ride last weekend, but I was there at the vet check serving muffins/coffee and putting out glow sticks on Sat. night and pulling flags Sun. AM. I only hope the ride will still be as scheduled with all the fires. Just heard the West. States run is cancelled due to fires.

Hi Melissa,

I may have an extra horse.  Her name is FCF Satinique, and she has done a few two day 50 milers and has a total of 205 miles in rides 50 to 55 miles, and 120 miles in LD.  I am bringing her as my back mount, and actually just had her vet checked this afternoon for her health certificate to go to Ca.  I have ridden her twice at night time, and she did ok.  She is a larger mare, and has never been pulled from a ride, even got a BC before.  But, she has never done a 100 mile ride.  I think at a slow even pace, she would do fine, but just wanted to let you know.  Also, I am riding her in the AHA Champion ship ride in a few days in Williams AZ.  She will be doing a 50 miler, so she may not be as rested. . . . . . . ?

But, I am bringing her anyway, so you are welcome to come and see her and see what you think.  Look up her AERC record: H42473.

I am bringing her as my second mount, plus we are also offering her for sale (too many).

So, if this helps, let me know.
~Brenda

Dear Brenda:
You might want to post a photograph of your extra horse for
Tevis. That way lots more riders will contact you. Thanks, Bob
Sydnor, Fair Oaks, California.
