Hi Patryk,

Not sure I understood you correctly. What do you mean under "test manager"?

You obviously can customize your testng.xml and/or have different xmls for different testing paths
In case you wanted to feed multiple xmls in single run you can do this from command line or employing ant

If you are looking for convenient UI (desktop or Web) - I'd also like to obtain this tool.

Thanks,
Yevhen

Hello.

I have been using testNG and Selenium for a couple of days for my intern task. Really liked it.

Since I have all my test methods and class written, I was wondering if there is a simple way to manage those tests (some kind of test manager) and different test paths. I do not want to change the tools I'm using now.
Thanks in advance for the replies, I'm new in testing so it can be still difficult for me to do some things.

We've ended up customizing several tools to help us interact with our portfolio.  One of these is Jenkins which helps us execute our test suite, the other is a test management system with a flexible API and customizable UI.  We use TestRail by Gurock, and have been able to use their custom fields and UI scripts modifications to actually programattically drive TestNG runs and collect results including logs and screenshots.  Most of this is custom built for our organization, as we were surprised not to see these options already available elsewhere.

I thought about that and I realized that testng.xml is the only way to do that now. Was hoping that there is a tool that would simplify the process.
By the test manager I meant that kind of tool that would let me for example write down the chosen scenarios and then run them using selenium and testNG. Seems I will have to take a closer look to the way you proposed.

Remembered one more option - craft and run suite programmically.

Forgot to mention - we also use TeamCity (CI) to run different test configurations - but it is again Ant via Ant adaptor
I guess that since automated testing is most helpful in continuous integration most of the tools are inclined that way.

Thanks,
Yevhen
