Enabling telugu fonts in pdf conversion of Joomla CMS

Joomla CMS supports conversion of articles to PDF format. It uses
tcpdf (www.tcpdf.org) utility for this
But it is unable to convert telugu content into pdf.

After a bit of googling I found that it requires appropriate font
setup.

I tried the steps mentioned here with pothana2000 and Gautami.ttf
files.

But did not succeed.

if anybody has an idea on this , please share with us.
