I am not sure how much tellurium is still alive. I have seen little activity for past year. I think latest release is about one year old. Maybe main contributor (
Jian Fang) has been put on another project ?
Personally I am using selenium again. I did not face so many problems with object identification (I would say major advantage of tellurium). I am more facing problems with elements not available yet, not visible yet, being overlapped by a notification and therefore not clickable. These are normal selenium problems, that also occur with any other testing framework. Test automation is a very painful process.
I did made a major improvement in my test script development: instead of first creating my script and then trying it out, I create my script interactively and try out piece by piece. I have a groovy console attached to my JVM running selenium driver, and thus can try out pieces of code, and rollback my browser if it does not work. This makes fun, and is far less painful than finding out your failures only when you run your test. You can read more on my blog:
