Hi there,

I am using Telephone im combination with a Fritz!Box. Incoming calls
work totally fine, but outgoing calls are scrambled and highly
distorted. As far as I learned now, this is because the Fritz!Box
doesn't support the G.722 codec, but this information is not verified.
Could you make it possible to change the codec used? An additional
option in the setting perhaps? This would solve it and would make it
acutally usable and hence a great piece of software.

Thanks,

Stefan

I've used it with a few different providers: antisip, callcentric, tanstagi, ekiga, and its worked well for me. Another option is making Fritz!Box support more standard codecs, but I've never heard of Fritz!Box.

It is also free software, so you can download the source and build in any codecs that you want.

I'm having this problem too with a Fritz!box 7390.

However I believe that the Fritzbox does support the G.722 codec

Supports the following VoIP codecs: G.711, G.726-32, G.726-40, G.726-24 G.711a and G.711u G.729, G.722, ILBC clear mode

That's right, the Fritz!Box supports that Codec. I guess the issue is that it doesn't recognize the codec Telephone uses properly in outgoing calls. But I haven't tested the new release from 5 days ago, probably it has been fixed.

Cheers,

Stefan

I've got the same problem on my FritzBox 7330 SL. Incoming calls work
fine with G.711 but outgoing calls are totally distorted.
An option to set the perferred codec for outgoing calls would be fine.

Thanks in advance
Robert
