IPTV Regulation

Dear TGP,

I would like to know that what is the PTA regulation for IPTV in Pakistan as per the telecom de-regulation act nothing specifically is mentioned. It is a bundled service so for voice you need to have LDI and for TV channels do you require cable operator license or what? and what about VoD is there any single license to offer IPTV services. How PTCL is doing it?

IPTV licensing comes under PEMRA and not under PTA. Pls visit this link for more details.

For all tv services whether legacy, IPTV or vod requires license from
PEMRA not PTA

Dear Mr. Aftab

 

PTA is not the governing or licensining body for IPTV. The compnay having fixed local loop license from PTA may apply for IPTV license from PEMRA.
