Government is apparently taking strict notice, lets see what happens. I am sure some interesting, eye-opening news for world media are due in coming months.

Without going much political, the way the Govt. is acting i.e. monitoring simple jokes, it would go against the free speech protected by Constitution - which eventually would cause SC to act in coming days.

If i'm not wrong - wasn't the said ordinance in Musharaf era was already outdated and pending discussion in a parliamentary committee ? Please correct me if i am wrong.

Whatever the cost is, its yours and mine TAX $$ at work.

What is the exact legal definition of "in-decent"?

I dont think any government in the world has been able to define this in a non-controversial manner. I think there will be a lot of political misuse of this law...

In-decent, for current govt, can be defined as a joke, anecdote, insulting comment or derogatory remark about the Bhutto Clan (adopted), PPP and its allies.

Cyber Crime Act (CCA) will be used to push ISPs and Cell phone
companies to cooperate with the government, according to this.

"They dispelled the perception regarding person to person monitoring,
saying that it is impossible for the agency to examine each and every
e-mail and SMS. Hence, action against cyber criminals would be
subjected on the complaints. It is worth mentioning that violators of
CCA can be penalised wirh lifetime imprisonment with property
confiscation."

My friend received a Prerecorded Call from his own CLI on his mobile in urdu message

"Aap Kay Number say Ghair Ikhlaqi Msg or call ho rhi hain app in say guraiz karain wrna app ki services suspend kr di jain gi"

Actually he forwards Jokes (different types, against govt also :) to his other friends.

Free speech or indecent message aside, what about violation of privacy?

Won't they have to filter each and every message sent by a user to mark it as indecent?
