Subject: RE: [Emergency] Cyber Crime Ordinance promulgated by President
To: Wasim Baig <wa

Dear Wasim
Assalamu alaikum
I've just confirmed from Ministry of IT from a reliable source that the
Cyber Crimes Ordinance has been promulgated.
This is indeed a sad development for the civil liberties of the citizenry
due to the extreme scope for its abuse in the name again of the notorious
war on terror.
The law is however an Ordinance which has a four month of 120 days' life. It
has to be placed before National Assembly and Senate for being enacted into
an Act of Parliament. If not enacted before passage of four months, the
President can keep promulgating the law over and over again for similar
periods.
Any movement to resist this draconian law must therefore make use of this
aspect and opportunity.
Best regards,
