Hey All,

I was wondering if anyone here has heard about the rumors going around
these days about Singtel acquiring a certain percentage in Wateen as
they did with Warid. Word is that this piece of news can now be
considered more than a rumor.

Anybody got anymore info on this?

Temasek Holding is the Singtel own Financial company who suggest
Singtel where and when to invest. Temasek Holding said that singtel is
here in Pakistan for longterm. They will increase the shares in Warid
and also acquire certain percentage in Wateen. Currently a very big
name of Pakistan Cellular industry Mr.Suhail Jan today joined Warid.
He worked for Mobilink and he was heading Banglaink Commercials before
Mobilink. So one can imagine that how Singtel is looking Pakistani
Market.

Hey Haris, how do u know about the evaluation by Goldman Sachs of
Wateen. Is this information available somewhere publicly? I would
appreciate it if you would post the link (if it exists) to this piece.

Wateen is profitable. There consumer products are not however their corporate services to warid, telenor and soon cmpak are making the company suffificient money. Was told this from an insider as well.
