PTCL fibre infrastructure down - Power Volunteers

As part of the blackout that hit most of Sind yestreday (and is still continuing), several areas with Fibre Optic ONUs have been shut down due to lack of power.

One such case is the locality of my area, Lalazar, near beach luxury.

Does anyone know what kind of power requirement a PTCL ONU has? I am willing to offer power from my generators for this, if PTCL agrees to help implement this as early as possible.

It is affecting our business, and im sure many others in the area.

Im sure most of us working in stable companies can also help the infrastructure by volunteering some power to PTCL.

Does anyone know of a PTCL contact who can help with this urgently?

Yeah but the problem is, they rely on power from KESC to power to ONUs dispersed throughout the city.

My ONU is down...and PTCL/Etisalat dont transmit power!

Im trying to reach PTCL for this...would appreciate a contact there.

Spoke to Mr. Kamran Mahmood, GM Corporate Services.

The ONU typically requires 2KV of power, and while I offered my help, he mentioned that these are powered in ring circuits of their own. I offered to volunteer more power (considering i have over 30KV extra available for maybe a set of ONUs that may be in the ring). 

About 200 ONUs have been affected.

Mr. Mahmood said they would get in touch if they need our help. he was very thankful for the offer.

Anyhow, that didnt solve my problem! So my admin teams are now in touch with the line man community who, in turn, is in touch with PTCLs service teams where they are going around powering up ONUs. 

Lets see.

I am, however, reiterating my offer. I can give about 20KV of power to PTCL. They just need to come with a wire and connect it from my generator to the ONU. This offer is valid until KESC resumes power supply to this area!
