Last night only, I was asking my friend in Kenya to get me some Google Ideos Phone

And today one of my guys ( Thank  You Adeel) sent an sms that zong has launched the phone in Karachi.

I called the 310 zong support line, but they do not have the info on it, so I sent a guy to go and buy the set.

They also do not have it in the Bhadurabad Branch, so now we are on the way to Head Office to buy it.

The launch price is 15999 in Pakistan hopefully it will come to the same 100$ price soon ...

This will be the 1st ever Android 2.2 with so much excellent features and it looks pretty impressive, nice and simple !! I can't wait to get my hands on, and i don't think so that i will be waiting for prices to cut down to 100$ !! : )

NexusOne was the first Froyo 2.2 phone. Samsung Galaxy S has started receiving 2.2 update in Europe. Also HTC Desire has received 2.2 update in UK. Both these updates should reach here soon.

I hope this would be a good phone,  but it cannot be compared with the likes of NexusOne, HTC Desire or Samsung Galaxy S. All the above have great hardware, 1GHz processors, 5mp cameras, AMOLED screens etc.

But its good to see some mid-range smartphones.

Since that day we have taken 4 more sets , it is a very very good phone

Bad things about IDEOS:-
* Small 71mm (2.8 Inch) Display
* Low-resolution 320x240-pixel
(which makes things look blurry)
* Weak Camera (3.2 Mega Pixel)
* Resistive digitizer.
* Only 256 mb of RAM
* Front buttons are not good at all
(like HTC Tattoo)

Good:-
* Latest Android 2.2 Froyo
* Responsive capacitive touchscreen
* 802.11n Wi-Fi
* HSPA
* Access to the Android app store (Auto Update)

The Huawei Ideos does everything right to create a cheap smart phone with
plenty of Google Power and that will bring Android to the masses.
It's not going to take on the big, beautiful Samsung Galaxy S or HTC
Desire, but because of it's low cost and great android features it can take
some market for sure.
