TeleCard embarks on plan to roll out Wimax Service

Pursuant to a decision of the TeleCard Board to actively participate in the fast-growing Wireless Broadband market, the company has announced that it has chosen Augere as the principal contractor to design and build the network such as to position a great offering / value proposition for the growing and very quality sensitive internet user community in the country.
The equipment deployment for the initial phase has already commenced and the company expects the offering of the service to be commercially ready by the end of the year.
Augere is an international organisation that focused on delivering broadband in the key emerging markets such as Pakistan. Led by a highly experienced team of international telecommunication executives, Augere has an access to significant financial and technical expertise that will support its business in Pakistan.
TeleCard hopes that the launch of a Wimax Network will enable TeleCard to further its penetration in the telecom sector and to optimise use of TeleCard resources not only in the form of spectrum utilisation but also leveraging the overall field network and infrastructure which the Company has deployed throughout the country.
TeleCard Vice Chairman Aamir Niazi maintained the newest development at the TeleCard will further enhance the Company's profitability and will be a significant contributor to stakeholder satisfaction on an ongoing basis.

Commercial launch by end of this year !!! i doubt....
Inside says they have chosen Huawei platform for their trail in Karachi only for now....

I got to know AlcaLu is the other probable vendor for this project......
