The Forest seeks techy volunteers

The Forest, a volunteer run, not-for-profit arts, social and events space masquerading as a groovy veggie café in the heart of Edinburgh, is looking for volunteers to help with both our website and computer hardware. Here are three roles we're seeking to fill;

Associate Web Admin

We're looking for a dedicated volunteer to help administrate the nuts and bolts of our website.

• Knowledge of CSS, PHP and what a CMS/CMF is are desired
• Working with the features and modules of the open source Drupal CMS
• Thinking creatively about how to better the internal and external user experience
• Liaising with other web admins and The Forest community to get feedback, troubleshoot and share knowledge

Forest New Media Coordinators

We're also looking for dedicated and enthusiastic folk to help post and manage content on our website.

• Aggregate and report on Forest happenings and change for on-line publication
• To liaise with the workshop, café events and newsletter coordinators for relevant information
• Be interested in blogging and photographing various Forest projects and events
• We'll let you have access to our Twitter/Identi.ca accounts

IT Team Coordinators

Finally, we're looking for people to help manage our's computers and network. Tasks and responsibilities for this role would include;

• Workstation (Ubuntu) and computer network upkeep and maintenance
• Set up a file server to act as a document repository
• Organise and advertise for other techy volunteers to help
• Liaise with other project members and coordinators for requirements
• Work within the Forest and other communities for knowledge and help
• Personal projects that would add to The Forest are welcome
