Hi Rgroz and all!

Last week I did a workshop with Maitland TAFE with some cool results.
It was about their identity.
As I worked with the kids in the library, it seemed many adspects of the exercise worked so well.
As a facilitator, I had successfully 'disappeared' after about 10mins, only being called upon to assist wrangling the moblog site.
They were very engaged, and they were ignoring some of their own literacy barriers.
No one complained about writing.
No whinged about 'hating' computers.
They all seemed to 'get it'.
(I always fear the group will look at me like I'm an alien and say "Why the heck would we want to do that? Who do you think you are feral tech-wench?!"  <--- for we are working with young folks at the fringes....)

I will say that when they felt they were 'done' with the 'task' they handed their sheets in a left. Chapter closed.

Uh, out on a limb here, but here is my moblog::
its cheesy and just my life and stuff.

ps: moblogging is a bit of a art/craft that I am learning. plain shots of people dont' 'work' so well.
Pictures of pretty girls rate high. Good, brigh colour makes images far more effective and engaging.
Clever, yet clear captioning/titling.
I'm having fun experimeneting with getting 'views' of my pictures.

Thanks,
Kylie

Subject: :: TALO :: Re: AFLF Networks Showcase 2005 - Mobile Blogging

thanks alex. this looks like fun but is still just more photos of colleagues socialising, which is why i posted my original question about moblogs for specific educational contexts and outcomes.  the info that botts and anne sent contained the sort of examples i was looking for, though i'd still be interested in hearing even more examples from people in this group who are using them (hint hint)  :-)

cheers

Just been watching the Cool Connections 2005 networks showcase roll in live from Sydney. The good thing about it all is that I'm here in Perth, WA and feel like I'm part of the scene even thouugh I'm 4500 kilometeres away. Couldnt help myself but highlight this one ;

I'm sure these guys would appreciate your comments. Check out the 'friends' list - left column for more interesting journeys using mobile blogging. Rose  - this may help with the demystification of this as a resource builder and if nothing else keeps the proceedings after much wine drinking on the relative straight and narrow........:-)
