I'm not going to argue about whether or not the blog is dead. I just wanna install the Sweetcron/Lifestream thing but it's just too hard for someone with my level of IT skills *&^% Very frustrating. When are these guys gonna release a version that the masses can use?

Using FTP or a similar tool, copy the contents of the sweetcron folder to your web server. This step-by-step guide assumes you want to install Sweetcron as your main site (in the root of your public folder). If you would like to install Sweetcron in a subfolder instead, please see the notes after this guide. IMPORTANT: careful you don't miss the .htaccess file in the base of the folder
If you are unable to locate the .htaccess file (it should be sitting right next to index.php, but most operating systems hide this file type from view) then you will need to create it on your server manually. It should look like this:
my eyes glaze over and I realise I don't really don't want to learn this. So my Lifestream will have to wait till something easier comes along. In the meantime there is Friendfeed of course.

I'm really just checking it out myself, so we could kind of do it together
in a way. I'm thinking I'll just add the links and stuff to it and then just
let it do its thing.
Warm Regards

Aha!! That explains why I got an email from Sweetcron telling me I had a Lifestream!! Thanks Chris. That's fantastic. So how do I add all the spaces I have content in? Can I do that it? Like - is it easy? :)
Or do I need to send it all to you? I'm willing to give it a go if it's not too tricky. Like - I know how how to copy and paste RSS feeds. LOL

I'd love to work on it together...one of the questions I have is how far does the aggregation go? Does it recover all we have posted until now? Does it store it all on our server? How do I configure a true cron on virtualmin? Warm regards from Brazil, Bee
Maybe we could have a wiki page to jot down all the questions we have or would like to work on and write down the answers as we go along. I'm afraid I will be the one making many questions - not many answers to give :-( B. Some more questions:
Can I thread the rss feeds to special pages (like have everything on the same front page but also separate under microblogging, blogging, photos, videos) Can I recover all my photos from Flickr? Can I also recover all the comments from these places together with the post?How do I insert Disquus (I have an account)

Thanks Chris...I am also running now getting things ready for family reunion at the end of the year. Thanks for the tips on themes - will join the list but keep us posted on your experiments :-) Warm regards from Brazil, Bee -- Barbara Dieu http://barbaradieu.com http://beespace.net
