Woo Hoo. There are now 50 subscribers to tb-enterprise.

As many of you know, Thunderbird needs better documentation to support
enterprise sites. As a start to this project, we've created a project
management page at https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird/Enterprise.
wada assembled data [1], which has been transformed by jen to documents
at
https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Thunderbird/Deploying_Thunderbird_in_the_Enterprise

We need your help. Please read over these new documents and:

- supply answers to questions in the draft
- check for technical accuracy
- suggest other items that should be included
- consider ways to improve the organization and presentation of the
information

Make changes yourself or feel free to send recommended changes and
additions to j...@mozillamessaging.com who will happily do battle with
MDC on your behalf. For quick questions go to
http://www.mibbit.com/chat/?server=irc.mozilla.org&channel=%23tb-qa,%23maildev

Given the level of enterprise interest, I am sure many of you will be
inspired to help improve them. Your experience in the field and talents
are invaluable and can help ensure that the documents actually address
important enterprise concerns. Thank you in advance for your help! And
remember, "Many hands make light work."

* How to preconfig addressbook to use existing standard Unix-LDAP or AD
* How to include the companies CA-cert in the list of trusted certs
* How to add an item to the Account Wizard (isp/foo.rdf file)
* Generic hints for admins (subscribe to tb-enterprise *g*)

Also, a list of ways to provide TB might be useful (e.g. via an own
package-repo for Linux-desktops, MSI stuff for Windows, NFS-shared
/opt/thunderbird,...)

thanks,

This is gone and is being replaced by autoconfiguration - whose
documentation lies at
https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Thunderbird/Autoconfiguration

rdf files are obsolete, but TB3.1 has something better:
