Hi guys,

I've been playing with Tasky with a friend and we were talking about
some cool ideas and thought I'd just send them along to see what
people think. Crack follows!:

* rtm supports sharing of tasks with your friends, I think this would
be useful to expose in the UI, so that I can share and accept friend's
lists. For example, have my boss be able to send me direct tasks (and
prioritize, due dates, etc.) and then tasky notifies me "Joe Smith has
just tasked you!" or something.
* Reusing the same UI that's in tomboy for notebooks except for
people/lists might a good way to do this, that way I can subscribe to
individual RTM lists and follow along.
* Let's say my boss tasked me with something and I'm too busy and I
keep postponing it. After yelling at me he just drags the task from me
to a coworker, and everything works itself out.

* Connect Tasky to avahi so at conferences people can create on-the-
fly lists.

* Associate files with tasks - It would be cool if I could drop
documents onto a task and Tasky links to it, so when I am working on a
task I can have shortcuts to the relevant references right from the
task. (The rtm gmail extension for example puts a little icon that
takes you to the email that you created a task from.)

* Dependencies on other tasks. I don't think RTM supports this but it
would be nice if I could have a meta-task that includes broken down
tasks, then when I complete them all the meta-task checks itself off;
sort of like "tracking" bugs in bugzilla. If multiple people can be
assigned to one meta-task, then the manager-person can assign
different tasks to different people - for bonus points, the meta-task
has a cool progress meter so that as people work on stuff the manager
can gauge completion percentage.

* Banshee in svn trunk has a cool subtle "pulse" when you add a song
to the play queue - that should be stolen and used when you add a
task. :)

* It would be nice to be able to right click on a task and create
Tomboy note on the spot in case I need more "space" to add details.
Sort of like the tomboy plugin but the other way around.

* An f-spotesque time slider so I can see which tasks I completed in
a certain timeframe.

* Beagle backend so I can search my tasks. (Or a searchbox in the ui)

* Plugin to bugzilla/launchpad/whatever that shows all my assigned
bugs. :)

Discuss!

Jorge,

That list is awesome! I'm going to add the backend support for the
RTM delegation right away and hopefully we can come up with a good UI
for delegating tasks and filtering based on contacts in RTM (or other
backends).
