Description: TaskPaper user group.

flag Welcome to the new TaskPaper user group!
I've moved all of Hog Bay Software's user forums off the Hog Bay Software website and onto Google Groups. Google Groups should provide a better overall experience. Moving the group content isn't possible, or at least isn't easy, and so these groups will start fresh and empty. If there was some content that you wanted from the old groups... more »

Unarchive
Unarchive, without copying and pasting, and messing around with the XML, accidentally saved over the wrong document and now I need about 70 tasks unarchived and put back exactly in order.

Reply to Blog about Saved Searches
Jesse, I like TaskPaper. I'm grateful for TaskPaper. I think TaskPaper is clever. But, I find you explanation very shallow. 1) You intimated in earlier explanations that it interfered or would interfere with other features. Now, we find out that isn't so. 2) You state that you create software mainly for yourself - and then... more »

Quick Entry Window bug with two displays
Hey Jesse, have experienced this bug for a while, but figured out what was happening this week. If you have two taskpaper documents open, one in each display, and use the Quick Entry Window to add something, the entry will be added to the document on the same display as the Q Entry Window, regardless of... more »

backup location
That we can set the automated backups to save not 1 but 2 separate copies of the taskPaper you are working on in entirely seperate locations... Just in case. And to have the program save on in one location and by default wait 5-10 seconds and save the other in the other location, incase of read/write corruption. Don't want to be... more »

Project Prority, and Exports
I would highly recommend the following: 1) Being able to set a priority level in the project as a whole instead of just tasks. And id its "@done". 2) Being able to do basic exports (at least as a CSV, basic HTML, and Text).. 2a) I have noticed that doing a simple "Save As" and saving a file... more »

Tried Applescripts for Saved Searches - Poor Substitute - Bring Back Native Functionality
Jesse, I have tried the Applescripts, because I didn't want to argue without giving you the respect and honor of at least trying your new method. I am not impressed at all and even more sure in my mind that this has been a mistake. First, in the pop up list you see the entire search text instead of a... more »

Bring Back Native "Saved Searches"
All, I inadvertently hijacked Steve's thread entitled "Get back Saved Searches with AppleScript." I'm reposting my response to Jesse here, so that we won't interfere with those wanting to discuss the Applescript. -----------Re-Posted Text-------------- Replies interspersed below: ...... more »

Disable opening the last used files on startup?
Hi, I might be missing something, but is there a way to have TaskPaper *not* open the last used file when I launch it? I'm trying to use TaskPaper as a regular text editor for advanced note taking (the feature set is perfect for this!), and when I launch it, I just want it to do what a regular text editor would do, i.e. open a new blank... more »

Is the bug fixed in Dev(88)?
Jesse, Before I go through the process of downloading and updating, I'd like to know if in version 88 you have fixed the bug I identified yesterday. Matt

What was so wrong with double tapping the command button?
Jesse, What was so wrong with double tapping the command button? I don't mind you putting Control-Command-F in as a way to get to the search/ filter box, but do you have to get rid of double tap as well? Can't they co-exist? Please reconsider this. I use double tap a lot and it is much easier... more »
