If it didn't require a permission I would put the broadcast in. But for 
such a small
target audience it's just not worth the extra scare effect that
permissions cause (Tasker already has something like 46 permissions).

You could ask the author of the Secure Settings plugin to put in the 
functionality.
Secure Settings is a plugin app for Locale/Tasker that goes in the 
/system area like
your clear-missed-calls app.
