I have just purchased / installed Tasker v1.0.21.

After Re-boot I am loosing all of my Home screen Shortcut Icons which have been created via tasks with Icons from the my various Ipack installs (Blue Orb, Crystal Project etc).

All Shortcuts via tasks with Icons chosen from either the Application or Built-In Icons survive Re-boot OK ... Any Ideas?

This leaves me with 2 options - 1. Re-install each Shortcut from Taker after each reboot (I have about 10 custom Shortcuts - not a great use of my time!) or 2. change the Tasks to only use Icons from the Application or Built-In list.

Both of these seem to negate the benefit of Custom Icons in my opinion. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dale.

What's your device and OS version ? Modified ROM or the one that comes
with the phone ?

Thanks,

Only that it's maybe your ROM. The ipack icons should appear once the
SD card is finished mounting (they're installed on SD).

It works fine on my Nexus S with 2.3.4.

You havn't force-installed Tasker on SD maybe ?

Solved the problem by installing the ipacks to internal memory (moving from my SD card's ext4 partition)

All OK now ...

Thanks for the pointers.

Dale.

Hmm, OK, shouldn't be necessary but if it works, fine :-)

Same problem with latest beta version.
M phone is Galaxy3 and use stock rom...  After rebooting, I found the tasker shortcut lost his icon(built-in) and also his Task label. 0

It just show "Tasker" so I was confused with the shortcut of application(Tasker).  They are exactly same.

Thanks

Hi Pent,
I'm having the same problem as b8drf, but I have both Tasker and the ipacks installed on internal memory. I'm running a stock, un-rooted Verizon GS3 with the latest software.
When I reboot my phone, my Tasker shortcut reverts to the same icon and label as the actual Tasker app, although it still runs the tasks it's meant to.
Thanks

As I've explained on other threads, Tasker does not maintain shortcuts
labels and icons, it just passes them at creation to Android.

If they are showing initially, but not showing at some point after
that, it can't be a problem with Tasker.

I'm getting the same thing on my stock rom, unrooted Japanese Docomo GS4. Strange thing is that I had a GS3 from Docomo, and did not see this issue. My shortcuts maintained their Icon and Lables.

The icons are just nice to have, and i can live without them, but the lables are pretty critical, especially when i have many shortcuts.

Any possibility to have a quick task to update the shortcuts created for a Task, but running a Task at first bootup that would re-lable everything? there seems to be a connection of what shortcut is which Task, since the action still take effect correctly.

As I said in the previous message, *Tasker has no influence on the shortcuts once they're created*.

Things are different with widgets, they can be refreshed and changed by Tasker once created.

February 2014 and still no solution to this problem?  When will TouchWiz or Tasker address this issue?

It's not a problem caused by Tasker, posting here won't help.

BTW, a quick web search brings up lots of complaints about this, try reading a few first.
