Someone emailed me a link to an LTE toggle widget which can be used by
Tasker:

If anyone tries it, could you mention if it works on your ROM (and
what your ROM is) ?

Working well for me. The handoff isn't perfect, but that's a Verizon
issue and not a Tasker or BAMF issue.

Unfortunately it only works for custom ROMs. We need something that
will work for stock, rooted ROMs.
It's definitely possible, as there is an option under Settings ->
Wireless Networks to choose from CDMA only or CDMA/LTE on most (if not
all) Verizon 4G phone-ROMs.
Has anyone determined whether that is just setting a value in a system
file? Such that we could use the superuser workaround listed on the
Wiki to explicitly set it with echo'ing the new value to the file
directly?

Works beautifully for me on Codename Droid 1.4 on Verizon Galaxy
Nexus.
I'm using this to toggle 4G when the screen is on. It shows 4G after
about 3-5 seconds, bars go blue (connected to Google services) in
about 10-15.

Thanks. But the download links (for "OTHER ROMS") are both dead. Does anyone have a copy of the file itself that they could kindly upload?

Ok, found it. Placed the apk into /system/app and rebooted, but cant see it anywhere to try the toggle switch, so something isn't right?

Seems to be device specific, for the GN only. And CDMA at that.
No other 4G Tasker plugin ANYWHERE? :(

the Secure Settings plugin (running now on my verizon sgs3) has an option for LTE. haven't messed with it, tho.
