I'm sure this is because I'm new and just can't figure it out. All I
have done so far in Tasker is create a widget. It tests fine, but will
not launch. I presume it is not active, but see no informaiton on how
to activate it.
I'm wondering: Does it need to have a profile? I don't seen
instructions sayting that when I look at widgets in the docs.
Instructions say:
These consist of an icon (the Task icon) and a label (the Task name)
underneath, and look identical to the normal application icons in the
home screen.Clicking on the widget runs the associated Task.
I have done this:
- Long press on desktop
- Select Task
- In Widget Configure, I click on NEW
- Named it Navigation
- Select Action Category-Misc,GPS, ON, Done
- Hit + at bottom. Select APP, Load App, Selected Navigation
- Hit ? and selected App Icon (I presume this wasn't necessary, and
irrelevant to my problem at any rate)
- Hit Done
- Click on Make Widget
It is now on my desktop but nothing happens when I click on it.
When I go back into tasks, I can click on the Tasks Button, and I see
two tasks listed: GPS, and Load APP. If I click on TEST, it works.
I went back to the profile screen and click Activate, but that doesn't
help.
Again, I am presuming a profile may be needed, bu don't see the
connection to the Widget. I clicked on New Profile, but it's like I
need to step through all that again.
Definitely confused.
