I had a Tasker profile setup to use location to determine when I was
at work to change settings. Location was determined with GPS and WIFI
off so I assumed it was using mobile cell tower positions or
something.

This was working beautifully. However since I updated Tasker through
the Android Market this has no longer worked. It may be coincidence.
If I attempt to setup a new location context, with GPS disabled, and
press 'Get Fix', the error 'Error: No location providers enabled and
available.'

Is this something I've changed to break Tasker? If so any assistance
to rectify would be appreciated.

Both methods need data (no idea why GPS won't work without data, but
it doesn't for me). So you need one of GPS or Net enabled in
Android's
location settings.

After that, you still need a network connection.

Cell tower fiing is next release, you don't need data for that.

It was user error. Under location I had disabled GPS and network. Re-
enabled network and its working again. My bad.
