...was used to figure out how to do things in Tasker instead of
constant bug posts or complaints? I miss the creative days. Those
posts now end up getting lost in the mess.

You're right. I haven't seen a new idea or creative use in a while. We
need a separate forum to share tasks and ideas. Long threads on xda
and other forums are cluttered and the wiki is sparse. Pent wanted to
move to hosted forums but his time is spent answering all requests.
Hope someone can create a place to share and brainstorm.

Maybe Pent should create another forum, "Script Writing" or something,
maybe a better name.. One dedicated to people writing actual scripts,
collaborating on writing profiles and tasks.

Ditto, a users forum in addition to a support forum would be great.

Does 'Tasker Discuss' meet the mission goals.

Hi,

if there is a webspace, I can set up a forum with e.g. phpBB (it's for
free) for you. There you can create lots of sub forums for keeping it
clear. There would be also the possibility for a tapatalk plugin for
easy access from phone (I think that would made more people helping
others here?!).

I think I like Tasker Pros.. or some such thing... I dunno. Just one
place were people can be creative and get help script writing and task
writing and making reeeeally cool tasks and such. And then a
completely different place for bugs and complaints.

Ludwig,

I think a lot of us are less thrilled about Google Groups than we
thought we'd be.. Heck, I was one suggesting using Google Code back
in the Tasker betas, but I suspect we're here.. Pent could always
decide to move to some other service, but for now I think all of the
discussions should be in the same service.

That's my opinion :)

I agree.

I prefer the old board we had to Google groups but I don't have time
to move
yet.

This thread kinda died.. Is adding a users group something that might
happen? I think it could potentially lessen your load, Pent.

Not at all, I was waiting for a name concensus.

Sure.

Doubt it, then none of the experts will notice the newbie posts and
chip in :-)

How about "Pent's Groupies"?

I don't think the name matters except it should, in some way, proclaim
that it's done under your blessing. e.g., if I saw "Tasker Lounge" I'd
assume is where Tasker users go to get off topic and talk about sports
or something.

I think I decided against this before I actually read it.

http://groups.google.com/group/taskerpro

(I linked from the homepage too)

That's ok, you can always rename it later :)

Maybe you should announce it here too? I don't know about others but I
ignore a lot of threads if I'm not interested or can't be of any help.
There's probably not a lot of people reading the umpteenth post on the
"Remember when" thread.

Why not just use this forum?

Maybe Tasker Pro is too intimidating. I know a fair amount about it now, but I'd be more inclined to call myself a Tasker handyman or tinkerer than a pro. ;)
