Since I got a cryptic message; I think meant for me, saying "messages deleted".

I went back to the dinglisch site, that I was linked to in the Tasker app.  It shows the Guide, clearly not written for a Developer, and a Forum; one for "Support" and one for "Developer"  I chose "Support"; not Developer.  There is something wrong with this picture; but I can't make out what it is.

The Guide doesn't seem to relate to the white interface on my version of Tasker; the screenshots are blue; my interface is white, and very clean, and "Support" messages are being deleted with a note indicating that this forum is for developers.

I feel line I"m in a scene from outer limits; Que the theme music!

At least point me to a place that support users!

This is the right spot. Ask away!

Tasker recently underwent a large ui overhaul to bring it along to current android standards. A lot of the old guides, while still containing useful info, are tailored to the old ui.

Keep in mind, the webpage has guides and the user guide. Reading through the user guide is a great place to start, then the guides can give you ideas how to do specific tasks.

Hi Michael. I had the same experience. I had to post twice before they became visible. Then I found this on the Google Group page: Posts from new members are moderated.... So your first post was "scanned" before allowed :o)

If I remember right, I deleted some duplicates that you had posted
while your first post hadn't been approved.

A new updated Tasker Beginner's Guide was made available last night.

It is a great resource and is for the new version of Tasker.

Thanks; I found the guide, and have actually finished reading it, but if it weren't for a link I found; and have bookmarked, I wouldn't be able to find it again.  I am a registered member of the Pocketables forum but from there I cannot find this Guide. I don't want to miss part 2.

Thanks, I finally got the Guide showing the new UI; now I realize why I was so confused /-:  I even created my first task, or profile; to turn off my key-guard when I am at home on my home WiFi connection.  So Cool!!  It's like having the worlds more awesome computer game; but better; it's productive!

I was confused by the reference to this being a "developer site"; the inference being that I shouldn't be here and that I would be ignored; and if I continued to post my posts would be unceremoniously deleted.  I may have misread the message, but no matter; it's all sorted out now and I'm happy.  Thanks

This is not a developer site, you simply clicked the wrong link initially and went to the developer site instead.

Part 2 of my guide is available on Pocketables, and so is part 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. A portal for all my Tasker articles can be found at http://www.pocketables.com/2013/03/overview-of-pocketables-tasker-articles.html, and that is also linked as a large banner both at the end of the guide that Ban Hansen gave you, and as a permanent banner in the sidebar of Pocketables.
