It's been great having three festivals in a row on our return to North
America. Each has been a string of reunions with old friends,
connections with new, and some brilliant jams before, during and after
the festivals - even some in our scheduled performances. Playing with
Ken Waldman, "Alaska's Fiddling Poet," at Tumbleweed Music Fest, was
delightful as ever, and jumping into Oldtime American fiddle tunes
with him after all those months in Ireland was a real brain twister!
Then, having adjacent sets with William Pint & Felicia Dale this past
weekend, we got Neville, the ever-flexible sound engineer, to put all
four of us together on stage so we could play straight through the
combined two hour set.
One more Washington State show has come up for us since the last
update we sent, so here's your fair warning, if you're in the Pacific
Northwest:
25 September (Sunday) - BAINBRIDGE ISLAND HARVEST FAIR - All Day (our
set is at 2 pm) - An annual fundraising event for Friends of the
Farms, a non-profit group working to preserve and enhance local
farming on Bainbridge Island. We had the pleasure of playing this last
year, and it was great fun.
Location: Johnson Farm, Fletcher Bay Road, Bainbridge Island,
Washington
(The previous day, Sept 24, we'll be providing music for folks who
can't get out to the Harvest Fair, playing for the annual "Family Day"
at Messenger House Care Center on Bainbridge, 3 - 5 pm.)
Hope to see you down the road somewhere,
~ Tania & Mike
