bluegrass oriented with has a internet radio simulcast. (http://

Fixing a banjo
|
| |
Hello everyone,
I've been having problems with my banjo for quite a while now, I tried
different things but nothing worked. It seems that my fret board got
twisted somehow, probably the wood working or something like that. I
know that the tuning rod underneat the head allows you to change the... more »

Banjo Humor
|
| |
Last night I was at my parents house and they were talking about
having a fire in the backyard. And I ended up in the following
conversation:
Me: I need to go home and get my banjo if we're gonna be sitting
around the fire.
Conny: Yeah, can't have a campfire without a banjo.(mildly sarcastic)... more »

TASCAM MiniStudio Porta02
|
| |
I have a TASCAM MiniStudio Porta02 that has never really been used
much. I do not have the original box, but I do have the manual and
about 8 cassettes(regular Cr02/Type II cassettes). I don't know if
anyone would be interested in this, but if you would like it, let me
know and maybe we can make some small trade of sorts. It is no longer... more »

Plectrum Banjo
|
| |
I've seen a bit on Tangier Sound recently about the tenor banjo with
DOD. I was wondering, is there a place in acoustic folk music for the
plectrum banjo?
I'm sure part of the answer to "can you play folk music on X
instrument" is always "yes". But, has it traditionally ever been done
with the plectrum banjo? My understanding is that the plectrum banjo... more »

Google Map...
|
| |
I was curious about where everyone was located and thought that I'd
just make a map on Google to give everyone a chance to see as well.
Maybe we'll learn that there is someone close enough to try and jam
together. Add yourself to the map if you would like. Here's the link:

4th of July
|
| |
The other day Patrick posted a song that I co-wrote that was all full
of discontent. I thought I'd post the first draft of something that I
wrote this weekend that's more positive and uplifting (for me,
anyway). I'm not as practiced with the guitar as banjo, but I think it
works well enough.

The "One"
|
| |
In one of Patrick's videos(I can't remember which), he talks about
finding "that one guitar you're going to play to death." I would
assume that this could also apply to banjo or any other instrument as
well. I was just curious what instruments others have and love as well
as why.
I currently am playing a Deering Goodtime 2 banjo, a Kentucky KM-675 F-... more »

My tabbing adventure
|
| |
A couple of days ago, I had my first experience with tryin to tab out
a song. I think it was a good learning experience, and I suggest
others try it at least once. I wrote up a summary with the tab to
Edelweiss for banjo. If nothing else, it's a good practice exercise
for playing 3/4 time on the banjo. Let me know what you think.... more »
