CALL FOR PARTICIPATION:
INTERACTION DESIGN AND CHILDREN 2005 (IDC 2005)
June 8-10, Boulder, Colorado

www.cs.colorado.edu/conferences/idc2005
** PRELIMINARY CONFERENCE PROGRAM IS NOW ONLINE **
EARLY REGISTRATION UNTIL MAY 15

Opening Keynote Address: Scott Kim
Closing Keynote Address: Mihaly and Chris Csikszentmihalyi

CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION:
In today's schools, homes, and public spaces, children are becoming frequent
and experienced users of technology. As this trend continues, it is
increasingly important to understand both the needs of children and the nature
of technological design for young people. With this in mind, the IDC conference
focuses on addressing the challenges of interaction design for children. We
also explore the opportunities that new technologies afford -- and the impact
that those technologies have -- in the everyday lives of young people.

IDC 2005 will seek to build on the successes and high standards of the previous
IDC conferences (IDC 2004-USA, IDC 2003-UK and IDC 2002-the Netherlands ). It
is our goal for IDC 2005 to continue to support this strong international
community of researchers, educators, and industry professionals concerned with
interaction design and children. The
international representation of IDC 2005 is exemplified by the (highly
select) papers in the conference program: 9 nations are represented
among the home institutions of the 16 papers to be presented.
