"But man, proud man,
Drest in a little brief authority,
Most ignorant of what he's most assured,
His glassy essence, like an angry ape,
Plays such fantastic tricks before high heaven
As make the angels weep.
William Shakespeare, 1564-1616
Measure for Measure, II, ii.

Disciplines
"Among the varied literary and artistic studies upon which the natural
talent of man is nourished, I think that those above all should be
embraced and pursued with the greatest zeal which have to do with
things that are very beautiful and very worthy of knowledge. Such
studies are those which deal with the godlike circular movements of the
world, the course of the stars, their magnitudes, distances, risings
and settings, and the causes of the other celestial phenomena; and
which finally explicate the whole form. For what could be more
beautiful than the heavens which contain all beautiful things?" "Many
philosophers have called the world a visible god on account of its
extraordinary excellence. So if the worth of the arts were measured by
the subject matter with which they deal, this art- which some call
astronomy, others astrology, and many of the ancients the consummation
of mathematics-- would be by far the most outstanding. This art which
is as it were the head of all the arts and the one most worthy of a
free man has nearly all the other branches of mathematics to support
it. Arithmetic, geometry, optics, geodesy, mechanics, and whatever
others, all assist it. And since a property of all good arts is to draw
the mind of man away from vice and direct it to better things, these
arts can do that more plentifully on account of the unbelievable
pleasure of mind which they furnish. For who, after applying himself to
things which he sees established in the best order and directed by
divine ruling would not through contemplation of them and through a
certain habituation be awakened to that which is best and would not
admire the artificer of all things, in whom is all happiness and every
good? For the divine psalmist surely did not say gratuitously that he
took pleasure in the workings of God and rejoiced in the works of his
hands, unless by means of these things as by some sort of vehicle we
are transported to the contemplation of the highest good?

Now as regards the utility and ornament which they confer upon a
commonwealth--to pass over the innumerable advantages they give to
private citizens--Plato calls our attention to the right things, for in
the seventh book of the Laws he says that this study should be pursued
especially in order that through it the divisions of time into days,
months, and years and the determination of solemnities and sacrifices
should keep the state alive and watchful; and he says that if anyone
denies that this study is necessary for a man who is going to take up
any of the highest branches of learning, then such a person is thinking
foolishly; and he thinks that it is impossible for anyone to become
godlike or be called so who has no necessary knowledge of the sun,
moon, and the other stars."

Approach
"...I confess that I shall expound many things differently from my
predecessors,-although with their aid, for it was they who first opened
the road of inquiry into these things."
These words were written by Nicholas Copernicus in 1540. And he
refers to the wisdom of Plato, wisdom not dependent on technology, that
is timeless.

World Views
The ancient Sumerian civilization lived and died by Astrological
symbolism, and the Mayan culture is known for their reverence of the
heavens. In 1927, Anna Mitchell-Hedges found an anatomically correct
quartz crystal skull in the Mayan city of Lubaantum, in the British
Honduras. It has perfectly formed lenses in the eye sockets, so that if
we shine a light through the bottom, it appears as if lasers are coming
out of the eyes. It is perfectly balanced and has a detachable jaw. It
has been estimated to be 3,600 years old-it cannot be duplicated with
today's technology.

We can sense that some great wisdom of the past has been lost. Little
is known of Earth's truer history and less of prehistory. Past cultures
seem to suggest (like the Egyptian and Mayan pyramids) that physical
manipulation was possible without technological advances. The Maya did
not use the wheel. Current world views however, western especially, are
territorial, technological, material, and based on the concept that
physical reality exists outside of us. Our tendency is to conform to
these views out of a fear of rejection socially (the effect of an
externalized focus), because we are taught helplessness from the
beginning.

"It is our conditioning, our current collective worldveiw that we were
taught by our parents, teachers and society. This way of seeing things-
the old paradigm-has aptly been called 'the hypnosis of social
conditioning,' an induced fiction in which we have collectively agreed
to participate." Deepak Chopra

It is far more, we are learning, a phenomenological issue
psychologically,...

"a term that refers to the individual's experience as he or she
perceives it, because that is its most basic theme." (See
the"Introduction To Personality" fifth edition 1993 by Holt, Rienhart
and Winston, Inc.)

This psychological concept parallels the quantum theory that has
become known as the new physics, and it supplies some of our best
evidence yet that consciousness does have an effect on physical
reality. Uncertainty is one of the primary ingredients to the quantum
theory.

In general the quantum theory holds that (at the sub-atomic
level), "the atomic world is full of murkiness and chaos. A particle
such as an electron does not appear to follow a meaningful, well-
defined trajectory at all. One moment it is found here, and the next
there. Not only electrons, but all known subatomic particles-even whole
atoms-cannot be pinned down to a specific motion. Scrutinized in
detail, the concrete matter of daily experience dissolves in a
maelstrom of fleeting, ghostly images.

Uncertainty is the fundamental ingredient of the quantum theory. It
leads directly to the consequence of unpredictability. Does every event
have a cause? Few would deny it... The cause-effect chain has been used
to argue for the existence of God-the first cause of everything. The
quantum factor, however, apparently breaks the chain by allowing
effects to occur that have no cause."("The Experience Of Philosophy"
second edition, Daniel Kolak-Raymond Martin, Part seven: Reality,
Reality and Modern Science: Paul Davies, pg 342.)

This side of the coin, so to speak, represents one side of the
strongest world view-that of chaos and unpredictability. A view held by
Danish physicist Niels Bohr, who accepted and believed that atomic
uncertainty reflected and was intrinistic to nature.

Generally, Albert Einstein's perspective represents the other side of
the coin. "God does not play dice", is one of his famous quotes. "Many
ordinary systems, such as the stock market or the weather, are also
unpredictable. But that is only because of our ignorance. If we had
complete knowledge of all the forces concerned, we could (in principle
at least) anticipate every twist and turn." This second and polarized
world view brings us to the central and most difficult concept of this
work, to reconcile and convey, and yet is inherent in the conflict
itself. That the world that we experience is not a collection of
individual but paired things, manifesting themselves in as many ways as
is possible, and in infinite relationship. Both world views are true
and are in themselves a so-paired network of relationship.

Astrology
The study of astrology acts as a reflective map of the momentum of the
energy and exploration of these relationship networks. The belief
momentum of mind (chaotic and mutable) which crystallizes into matter
(deterministic and predictable) referred to here as the mind/matter
mirror. Mind and matter being the same thing manifesting in all the
ways that it can.
But generally the reader should know these concepts (or misconceptions)
about astrology first;
1. Astrology contains mathematically exacting science (calculation
and measurments). It requires much training. It is based on the exact
time, date, and place of the birth of a person, idea, contract or any
other type of "birth". It cannot be applied properly through a
newspaper column, 900 phone number, or without sufficient preparation,
examination and study.
2. It is therefore not necessary to "believe" in it. It is not a
religion or cult, and faith is not required for it to function. It is
functionally evident once it is learned.
3. It is an art/science. The scientific aspect is in the
horoscope's construction, calculation and mathematical geometric
interrelationship between astronomical bodies, and their placement
against the backdrop of constellational reference. The art aspect is in
the intuited blending of astrological significators into psychodynamic
awareness, application and/or psychological remediation.
4. Astrology does not have to be "proven scientifically" to be a
valid application or tool. Astrology fathered science and should not
have to validate itself to just one of it's constituent elements. The
art of delineation and interpretation may be open to debate, but
validity must be based on service to client or subject, as is
psychology, stock market forecasting, earthquake prediction, or weather
forecasting none of which are empirically working models.
5. Astrology does not influence human behavior. Like quantum
mechanics has revealed to a great extent, the observer determines and
affects the outcome of the event, this book holds that we create our
reality utterly as the end product of what we believe** or have been
taught to believe is true- EVEN IF THOSE BELIEFS ARE NOT CONSCIOUSLY
RECOGNIZED AND ARE REPRESSED. And therein lies the most profound
capability and utility of astrology-it reflects through the matter
portion of the mind/matter mirror (the solar system), the momentum,
intensity, configuration and trajectory or direction of those beliefs.
Self-empowering the individual to now change, because the reality is
now owned.
**Since the horoscope exists before any parental or environmental
interaction, it is assumed the momentum inherent in the chart is the
product of decisions made prior to incarnation and reflected through
genetic structure.

Perspective
The earliest known horoscope was discovered to be approximately 4400
years old, found in ancient Babylonia. Our days are named after
planets. The seven days of the week are one quarter of the Moon's
cycle, a month one lunar cycle, one quarter of Earth's orbit represents
each season. Celestial symbology and mythology gave birth to our
current conception of a civilized society. The connection was so
powerful that to be separated from the cosmos or stars spawned the word
dis- aster.

About 2000 years ago Jesus the Christ was born, which set a powerful
tone for religious changes, the church and Christianity in general. The
precession of the equinox by the coincidence of the equator and the
plane of the ecliptic (the zodiac) allows for a regression through the
astrological signs at a rate of approximately 30 degrees or one sign of
the zodiac every 2000 years. Christ was born during the dawning of the
age of Pisces, symbolically representing the savior, sacrifice, sorrow
and physical suffering as an effect of the physical focus of material
reality, and it's toll from the illusion of duality and the limitations
of physical focus. The sign Pisces is symbolized by two fish swimming
in opposite directions. Modern day Christians display little magnetic
fish on the back of their automobile as their symbol of their religion-
and yet are vehement in their belief that astrology is satanic.
Fundamentalists fight the scientific view for prominence in the
educational system and texts on the issue of creation vs evolution (two
fish swimming in opposite directions).

The three "wise men" (Magi Greek from Persian meaning diviner or
astrologers, Magi, plural form of Magus, magician, originally priests
of Mithra)) followed the stars (or horoscope) because of their
recognition of the uniqueness of astrological configurations. We don't
need much science to recognize that you cannot follow an astronomical
object (such as Hale-Bopp Comet) and be lead to somewhere on the globe.
Yet this explanation is more widely accepted than the astrological one!
This is because organized religion is analytically the science of
following. "For religious devotion is a collective phenomenon that does
not depend on individual endowment."(CG Jung) It is more than likely a
defense psychologically against religious (spiritual) experience. "O ye
of little faith" was intended to generate the idea that every
individual "was as powerful as they need to be to create whatever they
desire to create in their reality, without having to hurt themselves or
anyone else in order to create it." This is the concept of self-
empowerment. "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto
the father, but by me" as a model of behavior not who to praise,
glorify, or follow. "All that is" or God, is all one thing.

Science on the other hand separates nature from man, Deus ex machina,
(deity separate from the machine) a perspective adopted as a bi-product
of extreme focus, and an effect of commercialism and the
technological/territorial perspective. This delusion of grandeur has
created the infinite number of substances "known to cause Cancer in
laboratory animals", and other fallacies of inductive reasoning, that
have created a medical industry nightmare, an out of control insurance
industry based on statistics, a rapidly decreasing ozone layer, the
illusion of using propulsion for space travel, etc., etc.. Yes it has
given us many wonderful devices, that have led us away from the awe
inspiring sight of a starlit night. And away from the re-cognition that
we are a part of it.

DNA patterns follow astrological patterns, the initial template.

The Age of Aquarius has dawned. No longer do we need to worship or
follow saviors or dicta. Aquarius is ruled by the planet Uranus, the
great awakener (Buddha and Christ consciousness). Aeons ago Uranus was
brushed by the dark body Nemesis, counterpart of our Sun and was tipped
on it's axis. This reflected the aspect of consciousness that was
sacrificed to the unconscious as an effect of focus (Saturn) and hence
the direct line to the creator was severed. We have played the game of
forgetting and limitation to it's end. Time for the second coming.
Which will happen within each individual.

The glyph of Aquarius reflects the electricity and sensation of waking
up to the avant garde (advanced group or forward guard) recognition
that we create our reality 100% even when we use 90% to create the
illusion that we only have the remaining 10%. And that by the
recognition of the validity of the individuality of each and every
individual is the way to "a new world order". Taking full
responsibility for one's reality creations=absolute freedom. The
astrologer will serve as that forward guard. This astrologer combines
facts, along WITH the inner voice, and trusts that they are one.

"I hear your voice, it's like an angel sighing. I have no choice, I
hear your voice." Madonna, "Like A Prayer"

"Make a promise, take a vow, and trust your feelings, its easy now.
Understand the voice within and feel the change, alright begin." The
Moody Blues, "The Voice"

"I can't get over your love, no matter how lost I feel. I know my love
is real, thanks to you. You simply reached out your hand, and touched
me deep in my soul. I came in out of the cold, thanks to you....

There was a time, when I was down, and counted out-well I remember, I
felt so bad, I nearly threw away-nearly threw away the key! Oh no, no,-
Motor of love, motor of love, heavenly father looked down from above. I
can't get over, your powerful motor of love. Constantly turning over
and over."
Paul McCartney "Motor of Love"
