I don't know about Ilya, but I sure do! Here are some brand-new lies!
1) The mold that grows on cheese is composed of millions of tiny
confused astronauts!
2) The Galileo probe didn't actually get sent into Jupiter -- it was
actually sent back in time to assassinate Kennedy!
3) Babe Ruth was the best president the Soviet Union ever had, and it is
for that reason that there is a statue in his honor in the center of
Canberra, Austria!
4) Crossposting stuff to more than five USENET newsgroups causes sheep
to walk backwards!
That was very liberating. Thank you!

That's one, but you really need to try harder if you're going to get

Which part of the site? There was a discussion about the Jewish
Messiah, but there are direct quotes from the Bible that say

he was supposed to be rejected by people, etc.
Correct. The site clearly lists the requirements for the Jewish messiah, and
it is easy to see that Jesus fulfilled none of these.
>but there are direct quotes from the Bible that say

Yes, *a messiah,* NOT Jesus. If you're referring to Daniel 9:25-26, the
*cut-off messiah* is the high priest Alexander Yannai. I have provided this
proof on several occasions, the most recent being less than 2 weeks ago on
this (SCJ) forum. The proof may also be found on the Jews for Judaism

The Hebrew word is "almah" (young woman) not "betulah" (virgin) and that is
just for starters.
You can cut and paste lists of all your verses and so-called prophecies
(including the Christian bible which is irrelevant to Jews) until you're
blue in the face, and it won't change the fact that Jesus did not fulfill
the requirements for being the Jewish messiah.

Any Jew who *accepts* Jesus or or directs a prayer to him or uses him as an
intermediary is a heretic, a sinner, an apostate, and an idol worshipper who
has completely rejected the Jewish religion, faith, culture, and people.
Such a person loses all the rights and privileges of being a Jew along with
his place in the World to Come. Such a person remains a Jew in name only,
and the only thing left to him (as a Jew) is his obligation to repent of his
sin. This is according to Jewish law and is not a matter of opinion. The
Reform movement, which does not follow Jewish law, holds that any Jew who
accepts Jesus is no longer Jewish at all.

So, in one of my Graphic Design classes, one of the things we just got
done doing is designing a Holiday card for people on the Portland
Community College mailing list. There are 14 students in the section,
and we all do one piece each, and a faculty commission decides between
five of them which are sent on to the Big Kollege Kahuna who does the
final deciding.
Now, since these go out to people of every known creed and mythos, so
it has to be value-neutral (aka "politically correct"): it must express
a generic holiday good will message and somehow be as far away from
charged symbols (I think even a dove holding an olive branch is suspect)
as possible. It usually centers on "Happy Holidays", celebrating
community and diversity. Buzzwords from the college's mission statement
("We Like Missions and will visit California soon") go a long way.
Understand that I'm not complaining. I believe that tolerant speech
would go a long way toward preventing our mutually exclusive creeds
from annihliating each other, and are praisworthy as a thing. So, I'm for
it. But, as Bill Cosby once said, I told you *that* story to tell you this
one.
So, we're looking at the examples from years past to get some sort of grasp
of how to approach the design. Now, it's helpful to know that the prior
President of our fine intustition of huger edumacation was Hispanic by
extraction (or birth, even) (and still is, so far as is known) and
was known by the name Dr. Jess Carreon.
His first given name was...
...wait for it...
...Jesus.
So, here am I, looking through these cards, mindful that we are to make them
as culturally average and politcally correct as possible, and here are all thesepast cards with best wishes from Jesus.
The irony was so thick and chunky it ran for City Council. In Oregon, it's got
a chance to be elected because it wants to limit property taxes.
And, there was I, wondering aloud how we were supposed to do value-neutral cards
when Jesus has been signing them for the last few years.

That & the fact that missionizing is rude, arrogant & bigoted.
To missionize is to assume that not only is your religion superior, but that
everyone else is interested in hearing about it, *&* should also switch to
it.
Susan
<ilya stuff>
> But more to the point, stop missionizing
> Christianity on the Jewish newsgroup. Keep it on the Christian group where
> it belongs.
You seem to be a little unclear on the concept. Reasonably enough,
given what you want.
Nobody likes to have their newsgroups spammed. So, say we set up a
spammer's newsgroup and ask all the spammers to post there only. Would
it do any good?
Evangelical christians believe that it's their duty to spam nonchristian
religious groups, and groups of atheists, etc. They believe that Jesus
told them to preach to everybody. If they restricted themselves to
christian newsgroups that would be like *preaching to the choir*.
Telling evangelical christians not to spam your newsgroup is like
telling birds not to fly south for the winter. They just can't hear it.
But I guess, go ahead if it makes you feel better. Spamming our
newsgroups telling birds not to migrate is no worse than what some other
birdbrains are doing.
It seems like only one person did this and we have all kinds of
responses to it as if lots of people were "missionizing".Am I wrong and
were there others?Otherwise, let it drop, we got the point.

Leo as we all know moves in mysterious ways. He would've known even if

What about "Kibological missionizing"? Is that acceptable in any of
those newsgroups? Because kibology is like one of those big box things
fully of buzzy buzzy bees. If you keep poking your stick into that
box, eventually those buzzy buzzy bees are going to buzz on out of
there and start missionizing like anything. And it's very hard to

What's the standard Irish answer, then?

Why are you even on SCJ? You're an Irish shitske, for fuck's sake.

Another boring reply. 0/10 for effort, 1 for content.
Try to be entertaining when you post, please.
Somebody a long time ago said to remove the beam from your own eye
before you tell somebody else to remove their splinter. But what about
the guy with the sequoyah tree in his eye, should he remove it before he
tells the guy with the beam?

Yes! If you are rude, arrogant, bigoted, and you think your religion is
superior, far better to keep it to yourself.

If it isn't a moderated newsgroup, what individual is responsible for
deciding what is off topic?

That's the chorus, silly:
The Bigoted Arrogance Aside

You seem to be a little unclear on the concept.
No, we're not.
We know what they want.
We don't care, and we are in the right.
The bigoted arrogance aside
It's Off Topic for scj.
Reasonably enough, given what you want.
Nobody likes to have their newsgroups spammed.
So, say we set up a spammer's newsgroup
and ask all the spammers to post there only.
Would it do any good?
This is why one reports spammers.
Like missionizers in Jewish groups.
Evangelical christians believe
It's their duty to spam nonchristian
Religious groups, groups of atheists,
Et cetera
And most ISPs do not give a damn
*Why* their customers decide
To violate Usenet rules.
This is the basic point we are making.
We know what they want.
We don't care, and we are in the right.
The bigoted arrogance aside
It's Off Topic for scj.
Yes - that is our point exactly!!
Susan
Yes, we do - but that has nothing to do with the fact that if something is
off-topic, it's off-topic.

Only the most arrogant bigot would assume that "soc.culture.jewish" has
*anything* to do with missionizing.
Susan

I do.
Next question?

Look, *I* came here for an argument! Also, is this the point where I start
typing song lyrics?

It was OK until you followed up you own post, which is sort of like

Hi. Yeah, okay. Uh, where are these Usenet rules? The ones so many
are supposedly all violating and stuff? Those things? Where are they?
Any time you want to show us the Usenet rules, Susan. It's all you,
baby!
Stacia
You are dealing with a matter of faith here, so your attempt to prove
anything is doomed to failure. I doubt what you or anyone else says
will change anyone's mind on the subject.
All the world's religions think theirs is the true path, but none of
them can prove it to the point where the other faiths will disappear.
The point is that if they post their views on our group where it is
off-topic at the least, & arrogant & rude at worst, they have to expect that
someone is going to "return the favor." I suppose if Cindy didn't change
the header, I might have.
Susan
Amazing how one can answer the question, only to have another idiot pop up &
ask for it again.

soc.culture.irish.moderated?
If you want to play, you'll have to phrase your response as a
question.

>> baby!

In that case, I'm happy to inform you, Susan Cohan (if that IS your real
name!), that by wilfully posting to Alt.Religion.Kibology you agreed to the
implicit mandatory verbal contract to answer any and all idiots' questions,
which you are now obligated to do due to the LAW of USENET! You could tell
our froup was under the mandate of the Law of Usenet since our FAQ is
fringed with gold tassels, if YOU HAD BOTHERED TO READ IT BEFORE SPAMMING
US! In fact, not reading a FAQ before posting is a violation of the Usenet
TOS or AUP (whichever is applicable may depend on your ISP) and can result
in getting your Usenet connection cut! Consider yourself reported.
> I saw no post from you explaining where the Usenet rules are. Are you

See, the problem is that the first rule of USENET Club is that you're
never supposed to talk about the first rule of USENET Club, which means
that whenever anyone starts asking what the rules of USENET are everyone
sort of looks at each other uncomfortably for a while and then, if
you're lucky, someone turns out to be a rogue AI with the sparks and the
exploding heads and all. It's a good party trick but it's not really
conducive to a polite and speedy transfer of information.
IGNORANCE OF THE RULES IS NO EXCUSE FOR IGNORANCE OF THE RULES!
