GOP: We’ll cut. . ah. . .we’ll cut. . .something people don’t like
by ctucker
The liberal blog Think Progress
http://thinkprogress.org/2010/10/04/video-gop-no-idea-cuts/ has put
together a damning video of Republicans, showing off their hypocrisy
on spending cuts.
A compendium of news clips, it shows a host of Republicans, candidates
and elected officials, who are either unwilling or unable to name a
single program they would cut:

Crist! this is funny!
Boohner squirming like a snake and calling for the mostly returned tarp
money to be ... returned!!! LOL I can't imagine how stupid you have to
be to vote republican! It's like asking to be hit in the head with bricks
Too bad for you you idiots didn't throw the working people a bone before you
shoved death car and fines up their ass. After the fact you refused to kick
out the murdering illegals. And of course there's the Kenyan village idiot.
Nope, you're gonna get what you deserve. Kicked back in your fucking
closet.

Return the tarp money immediately. Allow the corps who have earned
bankruptcy to enjoy it. Audit the fed. Elect Ron Paul. Imprison the
treasonous puppets in public servant offices--along with their puppet
masters ... keep cleaning up America.

I would suggest that voting for someone that promises lower taxes and
less spending is better than voting for someone that wants more taxes
and more spending.

Well, toss the damn queer republicans in that closet too; They are no
better and we are tired of it all.
We are still stuck with the problem of how to get a decent persons name
on the ballot ...

I would say that only idiots would believe anything which comes out of a
republi-crats or demo-cans mouth. Some are slow-learners, I realize;
But, come on!

NOT while there is a republi-crat or demo-can occupying the office
promising the cuts!
Regards,

That may be true, but all we have to go on is what they say. And if
you vote for them based on what they SAY, you're sending your idea to
Washington. If they fail to DO what they say, you vote them out.
This isn't a new concept.

Whatever has a republi-crat done which a demo-can has not? Whatever has
a republi-crat NOT DONE which a demo-can HAS NOT?
The puppet masters "play" is served equally as well by both.
When clinton replaced bush, we were told great benefits would be on us.
When bush replaced clinton, we were told great benefits would be on
us. When obama replaced bush, once again, we were told great benefits
are upon us. Indeed, until Kennedy, it has been but one long downhill run.
The problems are still all the same ... now fools start screaming a
change of party is "going to bring great benefits."
I say, the rich will get richer, wall street and the shadow government
will get stronger and eviler, people will begin dying from lack of
medical care, illegal aliens will decorate the landscape, jobs will be
overseas, etc. -- but, we WILL have an abundance of poverty and
homelessness here. And, the new world order will march on ... while
idiots and morons keep electing the same treasonous "crook type" which
the elite populate our ballots with ...
To put it simply, until people take to the streets to take NO MORE, it
will worsen and blacken ... fools, morons and idiots, ONLY, will find
argument with the true altruism's above!

Grow up.
The Republican effort to claim there is no difference is simply a cover up
of Republican failure
That's exactly what the Democrats are running on. With the exception
of the ones that are distancing themselves from Obama.

Well, actually, there wouldn't be much harm there, if done correctly.
Since about 80+% of the people fight over only ~7% of the money, we
would have to tax the rich. This would be the solution for awhile,
until they no longer had the money to pay them.
It is obvious, any new taxes on those stricken with poverty, living
paycheck-to-paycheck, they will simply fail and be forced on
welfare--which the rich will also have to pick up the tab on--so, those
rich are going to start running out of money in pretty short order ...
but hey, it will work for awhile.
Indeed, the above will force the people into the street in open
rebellion a lot sooner ... it might be a way to shorten the length of
time we are stuck in this whole mess ... I mean, it just might
work--hungry people get pretty desperate and mean ...

I should point out, I have always had a handgun around and never could
imagine I would ever see a time I would have to use it. A few months
ago I took the old military .45 in and traded it, with some cash, for a
new 9mm auto on a titanium frame for me and a little .32 auto on an
aluminum frame for the wife. Sent her through a training course, and we
both now carry ... times have changed ...

Your problem is you see everything in the immediate. By the time you
notice something "starts its' dive" bad policy and people have been at
work a decade to cause it!
The truth is, NOTHING has gotten better since the 1960's, each year it
only worsens. However, the top 10% or at least 5% of the population
have never had it so good ... they are certainly NOT for changing
anything, except to worsen it for the rest of us. And, the 1%
richest-elite are drowning in the money which has been stolen from the
other 90% of the population ...

The damage started with St. Reagan.
It nearly ended America and the world economy with the dunce, bush,jr.
Republican bush,jr wrecked it all...we became the laughing stock for
allowing him to take office.
What are you talking about, I'm lower middle or middle class and I have a
house,
4 vehicles, 3 tv's, 3 vcr's, a daughter in college, my 16 yr old son drives
a Lexus,
it's a 98 but it's beautiful and in great condition. I have radios, I have
a work bench
with a scope and all the test equipment I need for now. I have 2 computers,
my son
has a XBOX360, PS3 and a Wii. (Need to sell the PS3 and Wii, don't get much
use.)
We have a riding lawn mower, an electric gokart, a storage shed for both. I
have a
shed for my tools and to work in. My wife has a shed for her stuff. We have
a washer and
dryer, heat and air conditioning. Indoor plumbing :-)
I have health insurance that I'm comfortable with, and a Health Savings
Account
that seems to work well, everyone should have one, that would lower
healthcare costs.
I suspect Obamacare will screw up my health insurance before it's over.
What more should I want?
I have enough money saved to live very frugally the rest of my life.
Ya, I watched my house go from $83,000 to $260,000 and back down to under
$150,000.
All caused by bad government policy.
I could go on, but you get the point, if you want get ahead in America the
opportunity is here.
I do expect to continue saving* another 10 years or so to make retirement
more
comfortable. I'm 55 so I think I might get in on the SS ponzy scheme, but
you youngsters
should expect it to change drastically.
I don't have any debt except insurance and taxes.
This is a wonderful place to live if you live under your means and try to
get
ahead rather than digging yourself into debt. Everything is available, it is
an amazing place. I'm pretty much agnostic, but God Bless America.
I think I hear the Star Spangled Banner Playing.

Well, congratulations on owning a bunch of chinese junk, if you like
that sort of stuff, sounds like you are set ... I'd think in the near
future that house will hit 83K again, don't worry ... you are not doing
as well as my family, but then we always knew to own our own businesses
to fall back on. Of course, I only own one SUV and the wife has a tiny
town car ... I don't like a bunch of chinese junk laying around ... but
electronics is the downfall of the wife and me. Since it is all
plastic-chinese junk now, we think of it as just having "backups."
I don't know how much of a cushion you have, but it might save you if
you settle in the right area--good neighbors in a country setting close
to a clean dependable water supply--our vacation home doubles as our
bomb shelter and safe house ... I'd suggest plenty of guns, secure
shelter, food, medicine, gold and not necessarily in that order ... a
home in the city/suburbs is just something you are going to have to dump.
I pity those who either cannot or will not be prepared ... but then, I
learned that in Boy Scouts.

In my high school years, we lived in a small town, in the country. I
used to take a .22 rifle to school with me, toss it in my locker, when
school was out, go off shooting and exploring out gold mines, and such.
I went hunting with my father ever since I was ten.
The wifes' family have always owned gun stores, and still do. So she
pretty much grew up with a gun in her hand since childhood. And, nice
to have the family able to supply us with many and discounted weapons.
I am fond of automatics and have went a bit overboard in holding on to
them. I once even owned a 50 caliber cannon ... try to find a place to
shoot that nowadays!

Well, all that, and that IS the best reason for owning one--to make the
"other guy give up his life" if he comes for yours, to protect yourself
from an oppressive government, etc.
But, also a toy, like a car, motorcycle, etc. And, just as capable of
great harm if not "played with" properly ...

That would be so nice in Miami, Chicago, or the South Bronx!

OK, I will present my challenge again (Thus far, all the conservatives
have run from it).
First, temporal correlations are not strong at all. If you want anyone
to believe your temporal correlation, you need to present some reason
for them to do so.
So, this is your chance. Please list the bills that the Democratic
majority got through the Senate that caused all of these problems.
Please concentrate on the time between Jan, 2007 and Jan, 2009, since
that is when our economy went to hell in a handbasket. Now, please tell
me how the Democrats in the Senate managed to persuade enough
Republicans to overcome the inevitable filibuster. Then, please tell us
how the Democrats were able to get 7 more Republicans to override the
inevitable veto from President Bush. I expect you to name names of the
Senators who voted for these apparently horrible bills, and to point out
the bills they voted for.

Open your ballot, study it closely, now ask yourself, "Is any one of
these candidates really going to improve my standard of living, my
familys' standard, my friends?"
Ask yourself, "Are any of these propositions really going to change
things for the better, cure any of the real underlying problems, bring
prosperity back to America, improve jobs, health care, crime, etc."
Now, doesn't the question, "What the hell am I voting for?" Sound like

NOT is missing, of course ...
Is there a reason the Democrats are attacking Republicans for personal
issues rather than running on your Democrat policy records.
Did Democrats come up short on successful legislation to brag about or
is it just that you have no successful policies......
How's that Border problem panning out for your Democrats? How's that
TAX plan working, is VAT a big hit or is the Carbon tax taking-off for you.
I suppose the Obamacare thing could have gone better too..... But the
Trillion dollar bailout plan is one you need to use on all your note

A lot was done? Well, let me see, trillions were given to billionaires,
that is the same as has been happening ... the amount is staggering though.
The rich-rip-off insurance corps have been guaranteed clients ... a new
twist in how that is being done.
Tax breaks have been guaranteed for the richest of the rich ... that is
pretty old news ...
No, I can't say a lot has been done here ... indeed, the landscape looks
pretty much the same, except for a bunch more losing their retirement,
homes, wealth, etc.
I wouldn't say "a lot" has been done ... indeed, if I didn't know a

I wouldn't care about the (R) or the (D) except that the evidence shows
that the (Democrats) get it wrong 99% of the time while the
(Republicans) get it wrong 75% of the time.
One thing they are both getting wrong is looking for new things to
fix.... They want to write new laws to fix this and that, while in
reality what they need to be doing is dismantling laws and stuff they
have already "created to fix" everything that got us here.
What we need is a Constitutional Amendment that says every law and
treaty will automatically sunset in seven years and would require
another roll call vote to be passed for another seven years. That way
all the useless laws will be left by the wayside.

Not true. You need 60 votes to move anything in the Senate. The
Democratics have not had 60 since Scott Brown was swore.
There are 420 bills passed by the house, stuck in the senate, due to
Republican obstruction. Normal people are aware of this; bubble puppies
are not.

People love the compnent parts of insurance reform just fine. When
characterized as a package e.g. "Obamacare" they don't like it. This is
a matter of perception.

The border is safer and ore secure than any time in history. Oil is

Our president was going to get bipartisan results, remember?
How about this?
http://www.cato-at-liberty.org/heres-how-to-balance-the-budget/
Like Obama, you believe the public is stupid, therefore
we need a nanny state. Why do you fear freedom and
responsibility?
A guy was just killed on a jet-ski at a BORDER LAKE.
Oil is here whether we drill for it or not, and I am more of a free
thinker than you.
Yes you will need to cut Government spending.
We can cut a lot of Liberals waste, before we need to even think about
cutting grandma.
Turtle crossings for instance, don't trump grandma's Social security and
the turtles won't notice the cutting of their benefits.
We could cut the "Liquor" we buy for Nancy Pilosi on her private jet,
which we also buy for her. Maybe do that before you cut grandma.
Liberals are so stupid.
This is precisely what the Republicans want to do to save the rich and big
business. However, they will never say it on television - if they did -
they would never get elected. Wake up people, everytime there is a
republican in office, social security and medicare get attacked and the
rich - oil company excutives - along with all other rich people get big tax
breaks. This all falls back on the backs of the poor and middle class as
tax increases and reduced senior benefits. Supposedly, this is one reason
why seniors are against healthcare reform known collectively as "obamacare"
(unfairly at that).
Vote with your brain and not just because the republicans tell better lies.
Vote with your pocketbooks.

Cut programs to all special interest groups, homosexuals, lesbians,

More 60-80 lb backpacks of drugs are coming over than border than any
other time in history. Illegals serve as mules for this purpose to get
their first grubstake of money here ... most in law enforcement can tell
you about this ... if they aren't involved in it, themselves! With the
kind of money we are talking about, the financial lure just tends to be
too much for many of them.

Results?
Fill up the treasury and empty out the jails. End drug crime...because
there'll be no money in it.
Do the same with the IRS and TAX laws by amending the constitution and
getting rid of income tax and replacing it with a NEW ITEM sales tax.
The Prisons will have enough room to fill with Muslim terrorists who
kill people.
Growing Marijuana may be a help to the JOB market.
Reducing regulations is primary since regulation is what stifles
commerce, the more regulations, the more it costs our economy. Most
regulations are used by existing businesses to reduce competition, and
competition would help us get out of this depression.
End the "war on drugs" make them legal(increase competition) and sold
at any drug store and push for prostitution to be legal too, that will
take the BIG money out of trafficking in drugs, and that will reduce the
gangs/dealers income and that should reduce the value of sex slaves and
hurt the human trafficking business income also. Why have illegal
prostitutes when there are so many legal tax paying prostitutes out there?
http://revolutionarypolitics.tv/video/viewVideo.php?video_id=12541&title=portugal-legalizes-drugs--crime-usage-falls
Create Bi-color money, Red money for inside the USA and Original Green
money outside the USA..... NOTHING BUT A COLOR/INK difference, and
suddenly sending red money home to Mexico would be useless as the RED
money would be useless in Mexico since the Banks and etc wouldn't accept
it abroad. All electronic money leaving the USA would be debited the
Sales tax when the money is sent/spent.
The Drug dealers would have Red money that they need to exchange for
green money, makes it hard to do in large amounts and hard to spend and
more expensive to deal with….. that *makes Drug smuggling less*
*profitable* as would dropping the income tax and installing a NATIONAL
“NEW ITEM” SALES TAX *NOT* IMPLEMENTING A VAT TAX WHICH WILL HELP THE
DRUG DEALERS and illegals by making their tax free money leaving the
country even more valuable. If they had to buy/exchange the RED money
for GREEN money then you would charge the sales tax at that point.
Have the States Ratify an amendment withdrawing the 16th amendment...
Maybe enact something similar to the http://fairtax.org (Federal sales
tax) *BUT NOT A VAT or VALUE ADDED TAX* with the same amendment that
removes income tax and the IRS, preferably a Federal *NEW ITEM* sales tax.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7AgwtSzxt8
This will reduce the number of tax crimes that people are in jails for
and it will give the people back their privacy. It will also promote
*GREEN* living where people will save more and waste less and buy second
hand and wear things out rather than discard and buy new. Then add to
the amendment that if congress raises tax by 1% they are forced to cut
every single expenditure of the government by 3%.
Begin to draw down troops as needed from around the world. Put half
of our military bases along the southern Border to minimize the amount
of border that the Border patrol needs to watch, the military and
Federal trespassing laws will push the illegals to spaces between the
military bases.
This tax/border policy will financially assault the drug dealers and
hookers and other underground economy's by forcing them to have to pay
tax when they *spend their money* , which will further reduce the
benefit of dealing in other illegal stuff. There needs to be one type
of dollar for use inside America and one type(color) of dollars for use
outside the USA. That will make it harder for smugglers to get money out
of the country and if they do spend it here then they will pay the sales
tax and that money is used to enforce the laws to catch smugglers. We
are "right now" taking money from peoples pay checks before they get
them and at the same time we don't tax drug dealers or hookers and
illegals or others at all, we are penalizing the working Americans and
giving a bonus to illegal activity. Sales tax will also encourage saving
money rather than encouraging the leveraging of every dime you can
borrow like income tax does.
This will drive people in the underground economy to become part of the
real economy. It will stop most of the turf killings and end our
immigration problems with illegals stealing identities since they will
be paying tax(as sales tax). Offer illegals less welfare and charge them
tax and they won't be so eager to come here and we won't need to chase
them......
End Social Security/Medicare, grandfather it out of existence.
Pass an amendment to the constitution that makes all
*laws_and_treaties* have a seven year sunset clause, and it requires
that each law/treaty be voted by a separate roll call vote every seven
years to continue to be maintained in our laws.
There should also be some constitutional amendments to stifle congress'
borrowing and spending making it more difficult for that process. And a
constitutional amendment to limit the Interstate Commerce Clause. The
politicians use that clause to justify all sorts of socialist crap. The
founding fathers never meant for it to be so broadly applied. Limit it
with an amendment, so government can't justify every crazy idea by
saying its legal under the interstate commerce clause.
Pass another amendment creating term limits on congress so the House
has 6 terms and the Senate has 2 terms, for a total of 12 years in
either side of congress. WE NEED TO STOP CONGRESS FROM PASSING FRIVOLOUS
LAWS TAXES AND BORROWING AND ENDLESSLY PRINTING MONEY.
To quit filling the jails with people over *social taboos* , we
need to take away congress' ability to "social engineer" businesses or
private people by removing the governments use of tax code to manipulate
people.
Government needs to spend 10% less every year until they meet the
income of the government. The best way, is to
*use_both_cutting_and_taxing* , the Congress should implement a rule to
force an across the board spending freeze and then across the board cuts
on the government spending, to do that we have to include a law in our
TAX amendment to the constitution that can't be easily circumvented, to
force them to cut spending 3% for every 1% Congress raise taxes. So any
federal sales tax increase would result in automatic spending cuts using
a baseline of 10% taxes.
And we need to give up our roll as the police man of the world, let
them fight their own fights. We also need fewer crimes for people to be
committing, we need fewer police and prisons to support.... the above
drug and tax plan, will reduce police and prison needs by at least that
10% that this plan suggested cutting each year.
NO welfare to corporations, and cut welfare to private people by 10%
each year until it is 10% of today's cost. Any way you look at it, we're
in DEEP for a long time.
NOTHING in the Constitution gives government the right to regulate
plants which God placed on the earth. It is the height of abuse,
control, illegal actions, etc. for any government to claim rights above
God ... ignorance is the only reason we now find ourselves in all this
crime and corruption ... perhaps, the feds could legitimately tax drugs
going over state lines, but that is the extent of any legal authority
they could ever argue.

I think any argument further than that the government simply has no
right to say anything, in the least, about plants placed here by the
creator is simply diverting truth and helping the criminals in government.
Education in schools about drugs is an excellent use of government ...
government serves a valuable service there. The illegal laws government
is unable to enforce are not ...

Low taxes benefit the government since the more the economy grows the
more money comes into the government, and the more jobs for people.
Cutting the military is NOT a bad idea if done intelligently, for
instance cutting NATO out of the Budget totally is a great idea.
Stop any military assistance/intelligence to the UN.
Bring troops home to bases built along OUR SOUTHERN BORDER, so we don't
need to hire more border patrol officers.

Unfortunately, if we are to allow the illegal aliens and the export of
jobs overseas, the money in the few remaining hands will be forced to
support all of America. That simply can't be cut without bloodshed and
the outright destruction of society. If the funds become unavailable to
support society, then the society falls ... but then, in looking at what
is happening, certainly more than myself must suspect this may be the
ultimate plan ... frankly, I'd like to skip the hunger and poverty which
causes outright murder in the streets from occurring!
Cutting the ability of masses of people to obtain shelter, food,
clothing, medicines, etc. would create dangers which would restrict one
to a safe bunker! I tire of bunkers very quickly ...

It seems a bit like cutting our redwood forest, when they try to
eliminate a naturally growing marijuana weed. It is equivalent to our
government going out and clubbing baby seals to keep us all safe from
seals, since they are destroying Marijuana plants just to make us safe.

Oh, it is much, much worse than that. If drug addicts are left alone,
they usually only harm themselves or those who are willingly involved
with them.
With the government involved, and inflating the cost of drugs, the drug
addicts are committing crimes to get the money to afford their drugs.
They take a gun into a liquor store and make a "withdrawal" to get their
drugs. Or, they are down on a corner at your local school attempting to
sell drugs to kids to get the money to buy drugs. Or, they are
importing drugs, and exporting our money, to foreign countries to get
their drugs.
If you look at the whole picture, I'd say about 90% of all the dangers
associated with drugs, for the normal population, are created by
government itself! Up until the turn of the 1900's all drugs were
"legal." Some people became unwittingly addicted because these
addictive drugs were in medicines and foods they consumed and they were
not aware of it. So, government decided to save us all and make the
drugs illegal ... and now we are where we are at.
Educate people and legalize drugs ... there simply is not another sane
path to take.

If the billions, and most likely trillions, were spent here instead of
in foreign countries, making them rich and us impoverished, it would
sure help the situation here! Legalizing drugs would have a positive
effect. In the countries where drugs are legal, these problems we have
are almost non-existent ... greatest kept secret, from the American
people, I have ever seen.

MikeK, are you there?
There is one democrat congressman here who simply says that he is the
most independent Congressman . He doesn't say he is a democrat, he
doesn't talk about health care, Obama, or what he has actually voted
for.
His web site does not reference the fact that he is a democrat. He
has an "issues" page but, for the most part, he talks about generic
platitudes. For example, on taxes, he says, "Any changes Congress
proposes to the tax code should balance fiscal responsibility with the
vital and important services our government provides."
This time of year is an interesting time.

Well, come on, the ONLY problem we have had, going back decades, is
republic-crats and demo-cans involved in politics ... if these two
groups would be left out, we would actually make some progress!

More deregulation because as the gulf oil spill, and the S&L crises,
and the Wall Street collapse, and Enron all have shown, is that
deregulation will allow corporations to screw over America to the tune
of trillions of dollars.
