TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Residents of Tulsa's predominantly black north
side say they're afraid a shooter is still roaming their neighbors
looking for victims after five people were shot — and three killed —
early Friday.
Barber Charles Jones said Saturday the community has had its share of
troubles, but it has never seen a random killing spree like this.
Resident Renaldo Works said he is keeping his 15-year-old son inside
at night until a suspect is caught.
Investigators think the early Friday morning shootings are linked
because they happened around the same time within a three-mile span
and all five victims were out walking when they were shot.
Police are searching for a white man driving a white pickup, which was
spotted in the area of three of the shootings.

A nephew of Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade was one of 13 men shot — two fatally — during a violent six-hour stretch in Chicago, another indication that violence is on the rise in the nation's third-largest city.
Wade's nephew was one of six males shot at a store on Chicago's South Side at about 6 p.m. Thursday by hooded men who police said fled the scene in an SUV. One man was dead at the scene and four others — ranging in age from 16 to 24 — were hospitalized in critical condition. The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the slain man as Shawndell Harris, 22.

Several blacks are shot in Oakland every day and you never mention them. These shootings interest you because the suspect is rumored to be white, but you will drop the subject if the shooter turns out to be black.
You don't care about black people at all, you just exploit their misery to advance your ideological agenda. Whites shooting blacks is an anomaly, blacks shooting blacks is routine. The former furthers your agenda of damaging race relations, pitting "us enlightened white liberals" vs. "them racist redneck conservatives," with black people just pawns in your political power game. Blacks shooting blacks is of no concern to you, since they will vote Democrat anyway.

Oakland had a total of 90 murders last year. Even if every single one of the victims were black, that's about one every four days.

I admit I may have been off slightly, but the general idea is the same. When I lived in the Bay Area, I would often read headlines about three or four murders over the weekend in Oakland.
At the time I knew an old black man: He was extremely religious and told me he attended the Acts Gospel Church in Oakland. One day in 2007, a (black) woman was walking up the stairs to the church and was shot dead by her estranged husband. I really didn't know what to say: such a horror was completely outside my life experience, yet all too familiar to him.
I currently reside in one of the "reddest" states in America, and though most residents are armed to the teeth, I do not feel unsafe at all. It is not the weapon that is dangerous, it is the civility of the person wielding it.
