Actually, Lookout Andy used deception and your willingness to accept
whatever story that paints a Conservative negatively as "gospel" to
sucker all you Looney Liberals into his propaganda and lies about
Conservative rock star Ted Nugent:
Ted Nugent - Military
"In 2006, an interviewer from the British newspaper The Independent
questioned Nugent about a 1977 interview in High Times magazine in
which Nugent allegedly detailed elaborate steps taken to avoid the
Vietnam draft. In the interview Nugent says, contrary to the story in
High Times, that "I had a 1Y [student deferment]. I enrolled at
Oakland Community College.". However, the Selective Service
classification for student deferment is actually 2-S, and medical
deferment is 1-Y. A copy of Nugent's Selective Service record shows
that he had at separate times both a 1-Y medical deferment and 2-S
student deferment."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Nugent#Military
Like most young men of that time who had received a 1-Y deferment,
once he entered college, his status became 2-S, and upon leaving or
graduating from college the deferment automatically returned to the
previous 1-Y status; ergo: no "draft dodging" by `The Motor City
Madman', Theodore Anthony "Ted" Nugent.
FYI:
1-Y: Registrant available for military service, but qualified only in
case of war or national emergency. Usually given to registrants with
medical conditions that were limiting but not disabling (examples:
high blood pressure, mild muscular or skeletal injuries or disorders,
skin disorders, severe allergies, etc.). Class was discontinued in
December, 1971 and its members were reclassified as 4-F.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selective_Service_System#Classifications
Actually; when the 1-Y status was discontinued, the person _could_ be
reclassified as 1-A (or 1-A-O), depending on the particluar reason he
received the 1-Y status in the first place; but few were.
So, as usual:

"Confronting Liberals with the facts of reality is very much akin
to clubbing baby seals. It gets boring after a while, but because
Liberals are so stupid it is easy work."
